COVERT INTEL: GREECE v. TURKEY
Greece has officially informed the United States that they will fire upon and sink any Turkish military vessel found in Greek territorial waters.
Turkey has decided they will begin oil exploration off Islands that are Greek territory, but near the Turk coastline.
Greece has repeatedly told Turkey they do not have permission to do this, and to keep their oil exploration vessels out of Greek waters.
Turkey openly scoffed and said they don't need anyone's permission.
This evening, Greek National Guardsmen on remote islands we actually "Called to arms" by the Greek government and warned of potential military action by Turkey against those islands!
Turkey: Making a noise in Libya, but perhaps actually planning to take Greek islands?
Stay tuned.
UPDATE 11:21 PM EDT --
The number of ships leaving the Aksaz Naval Base in Turkey, heading toward Greek territorial waters, has risen to 22 according to Greek military sources.
The image below is of several of the actual naval vessels which departed that Naval Base today, accompanied by military helicopters from Turkey:
Turkey is now also deploying "Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters at its border with Greece. At least 1400 of the FSA fighters arrived at Erdine, Turkey today, with full armaments! It appears Turkey plans to seize Greek islands, and perhaps even launch a ground insurgency into Greece, like it did with Syria. The map below shows where the FSA fighters have been deployed by Turkey:
UPDATE 11:38 PM EDT --
Turkey has deployed a "large number" of Special Forces troops to Kas, Turkey, directly opposite the Greek Island of Kastellorizo. Invasion now considered likely ! ! !
The next few hours are now CRITICAL. If Turkey engages in military action against Greek territory, that would be one NATO member attacking another NATO member. Now we know why Turkey cozied-up with Russia. They've apparently been planning military action against Greece for quite some time. If they attack Greek territory, they will most certainly be thrown out of NATO, and right into the waiting arms of their new pal, Russia . . . . who has not forgotten the Turk shoot-down of a Russian plane in Syria. Erdogan is a fool.
