Chsllenging the whalers

Sea Shepherd challenges whaling in Denmark
A Challenging Day With Positive Consequences

Via Facebook

33 whales were brutally slaughtered today as the Faroese whale supporters cheered.

Of course in order to accomplish their gruesome task they had to get the backing of the Danish Navy special forces, naval helicopters and enough police and sailors to put down a riot.

Their opposition were 14 unarmed compassionate men and women simply trying to save the lives of the whales.

The Faroese whalers think that Sea Shepherd failed today but they themselves fail to see the bigger picture. For Sea Shepherd the positives include :

1. Proof positive that Denmark is collaborating with the whalers and thus Denmark is in violation of European Union regulations that prohibit whaling.

2. More gruesome images and recordings of whales screaming during their apparently humane hunt.

3. an international incident and international media because the 14 people arrested hail from South Africa, Italy, France, Spain, Australia and Mexico.

4. Already the incident today has brought in many more applications for volunteers.
