Acidification: The Other Carbon Dioxide Threat
When
carbon dioxide is absorbed by the ocean, the water's acid level
rises. If this level gets too high, some sea creatures that build
protective shells can't grow as fast or even have their shells
dissolve, threatening the entire food chain.
