Pakistani
police have reportedly used tear gas, batons and fired warning shots
- to push protesters away from the American embassy in Islamabad.
Eight officers are said to have been injured in the clashes.

than a thousand demonstrators vented their anger at a U.S.-made film
that pokes fun at Islam. Protests flared up across the Muslim world
last Tuesday, after a trailer of the film was translated into Arabic
and put online.
American
diplomatic missions have come under attack in several countries -
after the U.S. ambassador to Libya was killed last week.
