magnitude earthquake strikes Bougainville region of Papua, NG
An
earthquake of 6.7 magnitude struck 46 miles west of Bougainville in
Papua New Guinea on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. There
were no immediate reports of tsunami warnings or damage. The quake
was downgraded to a 6.6 by
the USGS, and struck at a depth of 64.3 km (40 miles) below the
surface.
