Early
morning explosion rocks West Windsor, Ontario
Residents
in Windsor’s west end were startled awake Thursday by an explosion
at a nearby petroleum storage facility.
According
to social media users, the sound of the blast shook homes and rattled
windows.
The explosion happened shortly before 8 a.m. at the Plains Midstream Canada storage terminal on Matchette Road. Police quickly tweeted that the resulting fire was a controlled burn and posed no risk to public safety.

Firefighters
had the blaze under control by 9 a.m., and are meeting with the
company to investigate the cause of the explosion.
