Chandran Nair

Today Radio New Zealand rebroadcast an interview with Chandran Nair, available HERE.

His views, call for a rethinking of consumption and western ideas of 'democracy', and call for constraint in a world that does not have the resources to allow for western models of consumption while providing for the rights of all to healthy food, water, shelter and medicine, without resprssion and exploitation. They provide a challenge to a western-centric view of the world

Chandan Nair: Constraining Consumption

In this talk economist Chandran Nair argues that the Western model of consumption-led economic growth cannot be replicated in Asia with global resources under increased pressure.
