Australian bushfires from space


Australia is burning




Australia is burning. The fires are visible from space. The 140 fires burning on the continent this week have claimed 345,000 hectares, or 1,350 square miles. Here, the thinly inhabited Outback is lit up like Europe.

Wildfires are often natural, but this year's record heat waves and droughts are anything but. THIS is what climate change looks like.
