This
will scare the shit out of you, if you have any left. Almost
inconceivable amounts of electricity required to make and sustain
this ice wall, which will overflow just like the old wall did. Oh...
but wait, Japan has shut down all but two reactors in the
country..... Well let's fire those nuke plants up again to do it.
Can't use diesel generators because Japan can't afford that much oil
(especially since the Syrian crisis) and we've passed Peak Oil. Japan
has no natural gas to speak of. Ohh... wait a minute they could start
fracking all over Japan for it... Then they’d have to build natgas
generating stations… But they’re broke… No, but wait, fracking
would destroy all the fresh water in the country and cause
earthquakes... That's OK, at least the government will be able to say
they did something about the radiation problem. -- Happy ending :-)

Looking
at Risks if the Fukushima Ice Wall Defrosts
The
Japanese government is planning to build an ice wall around the
damaged Fukushima nuclear plant to try to stop radioactive water
leaks. Jeffrey Brown examines the risks and potential political
fallout with Arjun Makhijani of the Institute for Energy and
Environment Research and Kenji Kushida of Stanford University
