troop presence has been escalated in Jordan--the announcement made
this week by U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta. Panetta says
military planners are in Jordan in response to the increase in Syrian
refugees. He says the troops are to bolster Amman's military
capabilities and prepare for any trouble with Syria's chemical
weapons stockpiles. But experts say the motives are greater.
Professor Peter Moore of Case Western Reserve University spoke to us
from Cleveland, Ohio.
