Depot
company, from the Second First Battalion Royal New Zealand Infantry
Regiment based at Burnham, is carrying out exercises in the
residential and CBD red zones.
Major
Aaron Wright says armed forces often have to carry out their work in
complex urban environments.
They
will be in the red zone on foot and in vehicles, training in
patrolling, detaining persons of interest and combat at close
quarters.
He
says this wraps up 13 weeks of intensive combat training for the
soldiers.
