Looking at the fires in California and Oregon

What is behind the fires on

the US West Coast?

First for a recent mainstream look at the catastrophe

Most of you who frequent this blog will know that I am not a climate change denier. In fact, I think that the situation is a lot more serious and fast moving than anyone is willing to admit (and that includes many in the NTHE movement.

However, much of my battle these days is against reductionism and mechanistic thinking where it manifests from the covid-19 Pandemic, to manufactured race riots and to climate change.

There is no single, simple explanation for anything these days; in fact there never has been but never have we seen a time when this approach did more harm.

I would rather look at ALL the information and try to make sense of it (even when it appears not to) and remain uncertain rather than jump to hasty conclusions that usually involve rejecting one side of an argument, often with very spurious and ill though-out "explanations"in the style of social media.

So it is here.

Those parts of the media that are not just blaming this on a weather pattern (this time, la-Nina) are jumping to say this is all down to climate change.

For example, the New York Times.

Officials have worried about cascading disasters. They just did not think they would start so soon.

“We used to worry about one natural hazard at a time,” said Alice Hill, a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations who oversaw resilience planning on the National Security Council during the Obama administration. “The acceleration of climate impacts has happened faster than even we anticipated.”

The LA Times says we just have to get used to fires. They are the "new normal" - at least until the writers of this editorial lose their own homes or the lives of loved ones.

Starting yesterday, there were reports of arson attacks, of Antifa setting light to fires, often close to the roads.

By this morning the first official denials came in.

This is a good illustration of the sort of comments from the Left, which is very like their reaction to 100 days of arson and looting by Antifa and BLM.

The amusing thing now, is that after screaming "defund the police!" they are now quoting police and FBI as sources to be believed.

Let's have a look at the various possible factors (other than anthropogenic climate change, which I accept as a given) and the evidence,

Geoengineering

The big (herd of) elephants in the room is geoengineering and the desiccation of the environment through the spraying of toxic nanoparticulates such as aluminium, barium and strontium as well as manufactured droughts that keeps the moisture away from those areas that need it.

Dane Wigington of Geoengineering Watch provides here a very good illustration of what is happening to the forests where he lives, near Redding, California (just 90 miles away from Oroville, where the have been major fires.

Put simply the forests are desiccated and dying, and Dane explains why.

This is the first question.

Why are the fires respecting the US-Canada border?

This is what climate change denier, Hal Turner says:

For weeks, Americans have watched the news of so-called "Wildfires" in western states. Politicians like California GOvernor Gavin Newsome, have told citizens these fires are "proof of climate change." That nonsense is laid to rest by a remarkable coincidence: All the "wildfires" cease at the Canada border!

HMMMMMM. The fires all seem to end at the Canada Border. Gee, how can THAT be? Is Canada fireproof? Are their fire fighters somehow better than ours?

Or are we in the USA seeing the willful acts of people/entities waging actual arson war upon us?

The answer seems clear: We are under attack

Right-winger (and whatever descriptors you like to use) he may be, but the question remains - why would massive fires respect a border unless it has huge firebreaks along its length.

Directed energy weapons

Every one has their pet theories and one is of course, Directed Energy Weapons (DEW).

This video is from a few weeks ago.

Here's another

Have Antifa been lighting fires?

“Never believe anything in politics until it has been officially denied.”

Officials rushed in quickly to deny arson and especially arson by Antifa anarchists and the Left liberals are quick to join the chorus.

But, is it "right-wing" to suggest this might be true - or is a willingness to look at the evidence?

First see this from Scarsdale Antifa.

Now, I can't check because their account has been suspended by Twitter.

Here are various videos and articles pointing in the direction of arson by someone, if not by Antifa.

This is testimony from a dentist from Portland.

This looks at some of the evidence from a trooper on the ground.

This is what Ritchie from Boston has to say on the matter.

And this is a compilation from the Outer Light.

And media on the arsonist, Jeffrey Acord

Tacoma WA Wildfire Arsonist Live Streams His Arrest Jeffrey Alan Accord

Facebook User Jeff Demologik Acord appears to start a live stream after "coming upon" a fire. He was arrested for starting the fire. He has BLM and ANTIFA support protest live streams on his facebook.

On Wednesday evening a Washington man named Jeffrey Acord called 911 to report a fire on the side of SR-167 near Pallyup, Washington.

After calling the police, Mr. Acord then set to live streaming himself to his Facebook Page. The video was later posted to YouTube. During the video you can see the police question Acord and after a period of time, the video ends as they arrest him for Reckless Burning 2nd Degree.

Jeff Acord was seen with a lighter in his hand walking on the highway earlier in the day in Sumner. According to Q13FOX — The Sumner Grade Fire in Sumner and Bonney Lake has burned more than 800 acres and was 20 percent contained as of Thursday morning.

He was later arrested for setting the fire.
He was live-streaming on Facebook when he was arrested!

FOUR people have now been arrested on the West Coast for deliberately starting blazes as wildfires rage.

Cops detained two men in Washington, man in Oregon and woman in California as the desperate battle to contain the fires continues.

Michael Jarrod Bakkela is accused of starting a fire in Phoenix, Oregon

Here are some other testimonies. Because of the disruption to people's lives by 100 days of mayhem and now this I would not be surprised if some of these people were not Trump supporters.

Who would vote for anarchy?

This was sent to me by a friend and is from Reddit.

To those unaware Oregon is on fire. 10% of the population evacuated. FBI and police say arson is JUST rumors. How about these10 cases of arson? Why is the arson being ignored? 10 cases in a week is insane.... links below..

I am not one to rush to immediate judgement or to accept just one single argument. I am willing to accept there might be elements of all these things and in the context of what seems to be a kind of civil war in America, nothing surprises me any more.

This may be as much part of a developing civil war between two sides that hate each other as it is an act of Nature.

Make up your own mind.

The Australian bushfires: one of the worst or largest animal disasters in history since the ice age

12 January, 2020

Animals fleeing the devastating Australian bushfires were like a tsunami, a New Zealand volunteer rescuing wildlife in New South Wales says.

There are fears some of Australia's native species – like the Kangaroo Island dunnart – may even become extinct because of the fires.

Six volunteers - a veterinarian, emergency managers, animal control officers and military paramedics - from Animal Evac New Zealand have flown to New South Wales to help with the rescue.

The trust specialises in animal evacuation in disaster situations and has been stationed in Bundanoon, south west of Sydney.

Animal Evac founder Steve Glassey, who is the former chief executive of Wellington SPCA, told RNZ's The Weekend the conditions had been extraordinarily challenging.

"To give it some context, the Australian fires [are] probably one of the worst or largest animal disasters in history since the ice age," Glassey said.

"There are so many hundreds of thousands, millions, maybe close to a billion animals that have perished in this disaster, so it's an extremely challenging event for the government of Australia. It's probably also the first time that the Australians have had to entertain international disaster response for animal welfare, so that in itself is a challenge and the New South Wales government is doing a doing a great job with the fire response as well."

Glassey described finding the animals as like looking for a needle in a haystack.

"One of the things that the team is, I think, sort of struggling with is the fact that we know there are millions of animals out there and we go out there to rescue animals and we may sort of be able to find or locate a few and you sort of think 'well are we making a dent in this?' But the reality is that we might not be able to save the world, but we can hopefully make a difference here."

On the first day there, the team - whose trip to Australia was supported by SAFE New Zealand - was based in the Blue Mountains with a local animal welfare agent who was licensed to use a tranquilliser gun to rescue kangaroos trying to flee the area.

Glassey said the team came across a number of dead kangaroos during their search, but they were able to help some of the injured.

"Most of them stayed reasonably sort of still, probably in more of a pain and panic state.

"It was like they were actually wanting us to help them rather than just flee. So by having a bit of safe distance we've been able to use experts with tranquilliser guns to immobilise them, chemically immobilise, and then we can approach the animal and treat it."

Images shared on social media has shown the cost to wildlife the fires have had, with estimates in the hundreds of millions possibly dead.

Glassey said the images he had seen looked like a tsunami of animals running away from the fire front.

"Sometimes the fires can be so fast those animals are all moving out and are in a large surge, but if there is boundary fencing they just get caught up against it and unfortunately perish."

He said he had heard stories from people who had fled to the coast and taken refuge in the sea.

"They had to endure listening to the koalas that had fled the bush coming down to the beach line, they heard those koalas were screaming for help. Most people that were taking safe refuge in the water couldn't do anything apart from listen to those cries for help.

"That's why we're here, we're here to make sure that those koalas and kangaroos that have been affected by this catastrophic event have trained experts on the ground to help them. We have exhausted our financial resources, we would love to send another or larger contingent of specialists from New Zealand to this event. But we can only do that if we get the support of New Zealand and other donors to make that happen.

Glassey said, at this point, there was no end in sight.

"Look, it's absolutely devastating, this is an absolutely catastrophic event and the fires are still going and they'll continue to go for days if not longer.

"That means that there are still going to be animals that are going to be impacted. On the bright side, the New South Wales Rural Fire Service and the partner agencies, they've done a fantastic job providing really good, clear information for people to make sure the animals have been kept safe. So in terms of companion animals and stock, they're not as impacted as what the wildlife are."

Glassey said even when the fires were extinguished, the rehabilitation process for animals would be ongoing.

"That demand for world-wide rehabilitation is certainly there and it's been there for the last few months as the earlier fires stepped up.

"So yes they're going to need resources for that and there are organisations in Australia that are certainly helping with that. The challenge is ... how do we bring those animals out for those organizations to care when there is potentially a deficiency in trained responders that have the fire safety training and the experience to go onto a fire ground with the confidence of the local authorities.

"The issue is that there are people that wanted to go in and come over and deploy that don't have the training for this. And unfortunately, that's creating a secondary disaster for authorities and the sense that the overwhelming amount of spontaneous volunteers potentially distract them from being able to help and mobilise legitimate animal rescue organizations that are accredited."

Glassey said the fires in Australia were a timely reminder for New Zealanders about possibility of it happening here, especially after the Nelson fires at the start of 2019.

"I think that unless we start preparing in New Zealand, this could be us in times to come and it highlights the importance of emergency planning, funding and co-ordination to make sure there's resource, capacity, training and collaboration within New Zealand to make sure we can be one step ahead of these kinds of disasters."
