A
small explosive device has been thrown from a bridge into the Chao
Phraya River in central Bangkok, Reuters reports. A police officer at
the scene said no injuries have been recorded.
Reports
indicate the device was a hand grenade. However, it missed its
intended target and fell into the river below, before exploding
beneath the surface.
The
incident happened beneath the Taksin Bridge, in the center of the
city, where a number of ferry companies operate, taking tourists
around the city’s waterways.
Police
are currently at the scene and have sealed off the area while they
look for and collect evidence.

Colonel
Natakit Siriwongtawan, deputy police chief of the Klongsan district,
said an unidentified man threw the explosive near a busy pier on the
city’s Chao Phraya River and that it landed in a canal.
"If
it did not fall in the water then it certainly would have caused
injuries," he
said, as cited by Reuters.
This
latest terror attack comes just hours after a bomb exploded near a
shrine in the commercial and tourist center of the Thai capital,
which killed at least 22 people, of whom at least eight were
foreigners. Over 120 were reported to have been injured, according to
local media reports following Monday evening’s blast.
It
is not known at present if the two blasts are linked.

On his Facebook page Tony Cartalucci has been saying that the BBC has been pointing the finger at Muslim separatists.
Whereas i agree with him in general about the BBC this is not what I heard in the following inerview
BBC correspondent, Jonathon Head said he had not idea who did it and associated internal forces as being on a small scale, and therefore unlikely to have done this.

Bomb blast in Thailand
Police
in Thailand say at least nineteen people have been killed by a bomb
attack on a popular Hindu shrine in the capital Bangkok. More than a
hundred and twenty people were wounded. Reports say the device was
carried on a motorbike.
The explosion at a major intersection near the Erawan shrine caused devastation in a major tourist area, with people near the shrine taking the full force. The BBC's correspondent Jonathan Head was at the scene
