REFUSAL TO TEST OR QUARANTINE OVER COVID-19 MEANS YOU CANNOT LEAVE YOUR HOUSE

WASHINGTON STATE GOVERNOR: REFUSAL TO TEST OR QUARANTINE OVER COVID-19 MEANS YOU CANNOT LEAVE YOUR HOUSE; NOT EVEN TO BUY FOOD

13 May, 2020

At his May 12 press conference, Washington State Governor Jay Inslee (D) laid out his plans for a statewide contact tracing initiative.   During the course of that press briefing, he made clear anyone who refuses testing "will not be able to leave their homes; not even to go buy food."
This appears to many people to be the book definition of TYRANNY.
Contact tracing involves interviewing people with positive COVID-19 tests to identify who they’ve been in contact with, getting those people tested, and then making sure they isolate themselves and their families.
As the press conference went on, one question kept coming up - what about enforcement? How will you ensure Washington State residents comply and what if they don't?
The answer is as scary as many have worried about. As Putvin reports, for those businesses/individuals that don’t comply, the governor stated that he confirmed with Attorney General Bob Ferguson, there will be sanctions in civil or criminal court.
At timestamp 38:55 in the video of the press conference below, one reporter asked:
“When it comes to contact tracing, how are you guys going to handle people or families who want to refuse to test or to self isolate?
If they want to leave their home to get groceries I know you’ve said they can’t do that; how will you make sure they don’t?“

Below is Jay Inslee’s response:
“We will have attached to the families a family support person who will check in with them to see what they need on a daily basis... and help them. If they can’t get a friend to do their grocery shopping, we will help get them groceries in some fashion. If they need pharmaceuticals to be picked up, we will make sure they get their pharmaceuticals... That’s going to help encourage them to maintain their isolation too.
“As far as refusal, it just shouldn’t come to that, and it really hasn’t. We’ve had really good success when we ask people to isolate, and they’ve done so in really high percentages, so we’re happy about that, and we believe that will continue.
Therefore, those individuals that refuse to cooperate with contact tracers and/or refuse testing will not be allowed to leave their homes to purchase basic necessities such as groceries and/or prescriptions.
Those persons will need to make arrangements through friends, family, or a state provided “family support personnel.”
The question, of course, is - how long before this "mandated" testing (or starve) will be re-upped to "mandated" vaccination (or starve)?

Virus is 'endemic" so why bother testing any more?

CDC ORDERS NO MORE

CORONAVIRUS TESTS IN

CERTAIN REGION(S)

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) have declared the Coronavirus
outbreak in the Seattle, Washington Area, to be"Endemic."  This means the
CDC considers the disease to be "regularly found in the region among the
population."

As such, testing for this new, deadly disease . . .  which has never been seen

before on the planet, never mind the fact it has NEVER been "regularly found"

among __any__ population -- will NO LONGER BE TESTED FOR in Seattle.

Here is the official announcement from Evergreen Health in Seattle:

This is a stunning development. Think about what this means: No test=No
Epidemic! No test=No Tell. Can't cause the stock markets to plunge if there is
no outbreak to worry about!

For those who are paying close attention, this says the opposite: CDC is
throwing in the towel because they know it's out of control and can't stop it
because they dropped the ball (repeatedly) and didn't halt travel from infected
areas.

It also tells people markets are going to suddenly and completely collapse,
when workers are too sick to work (or dead) and production must shut down . .
. . financially wiping out millions of people. But no one will get to see the run-up
to that collapse because . . . . no testing to prove it.

There is deep extreme fuckery afoot.

Extreme and viciously cunning malevolence behind all of this.

Ash falls like snow in Seattle as wildfires rage in Pacific Northwest - and other stories

Just some of the headlines and photos of the fires in the West.

This is scary!

Here's a look at the Portland skyline Tuesday morning

"If you don't have AC, it's going to be unpleasant at best and if you have breathing problems, it could complicate things more."

The Eagle Creek Fire, burning through the Columbia River Gorge since Saturday afternoon, yesterday started dumping ash on Portland— a phenomenon that which longtime Portland residents haven't seen to this degree since Mount St. Helens erupted in 1980.

And residents are feeling the poor air quality, which is currently measured to be at 152 in Portland and 156 in Gresham, which is considered an "unhealthy" level.

The National Weather Service has released an Air Quality Alert, in effect until Friday at noon, explaining that the worst conditions are expected to continue through the day today. They are encouraging people to limit outdoor activities as much as possible, especially for those who have breathing problems.

Almost all of WA is awash in wildfire smoke today.

Ash fell like snow in the Seattle area Tuesday morning as Washington’s wildfires sent plumes of smoke into the atmosphere.

It was so thick that dispatchers serving Eastside Fire and Rescue received concerned calls about smoke in the area and ash settling on cars.

“There is no local fire,” reported the department, which serves the Issaquah, North Bend and Carnation areas. “If you do see flames, please report it to 911 and crews will check it out.”

The discovery of a herd of wild horses burned to death in a Chilcotin forest is a grisly reminder of the potential impact of this summer’s wildfires on wild animals.

Chief Roger William of the Xeni Gwet’in First Nation said Thursday that eight adult and two young horses died when fire swept through a lodgepole pine forest off the Nemiah Valley Road. The scorched carcasses were photographed earlier this week by Xeni Gwet’in rangers.

Record high temperatures threaten the Pacific NW

Pacific Northwest threatened by hottest weather ever recorded; Seattle could hit 100
Jason Samsenow

26 November, 2014

An overpowering dome of hot air has entrenched itself over the Pacific Northwest and is primed to cook population centers like Seattle and Portland in record-crushing heat through Friday.

Excessive heat warnings blanket the western third of Northern California, Oregon and Washington state. High temperatures just inland from coastal locations are forecast to soar to between 100 and 110 degrees.

“We are talking about one of the major sustained heat waves in a long time around here,” writes Cliff Mass, professor of meteorology at the University of Washington. He said that “there is a lot of confidence” temperatures will at least reach the mid-90s in Seattle and notes the GFS model projects a high of 100 on Thursday — a reading he can’t “remember ever seeing”.

Seattle has posted only three days in the triple digits in the last 123 years. The hottest temperature ever recorded in Seattle was set July 29, 2009, when the mercury reached 103 degrees.

“If Seattle hits triple digits on Thursday or Friday, it’ll be the third time in the past 23 years — after reaching it only once in the first 100 years of weather observations,” notes The Seattle Weather blog. It has never before hit 100 in August.

The National Weather Service office serving Seattle said high temperatures are likely to be within five degrees of all-time highs.

Mass said in Seattle the heat wave would be “major” but that in Portland it would be “historic.”

In Portland, the National Weather Service office serving the region says the temperature could surge to 107 degrees or higher, which would match or exceed its hottest temperature on record (at any time of year) of 107, set in 1942, 1965 and 1981. Only smoke flowing into the region from British Columbia could put a lid on temperatures, preventing all-time highs. “With that said, several daily high temperature records will certainly be shattered in the interior,” the Weather Service said.

Statistics geek will find fascinating that the GFS model predicts temperatures near the surface in Portland to be seven standard deviations (7 sigma) from the mean Thursday. In plain English, this means that this is an incredibly rare and extreme heat situation.

The hottest temperatures in the region are expected in Oregon’s southern interior where highs could approach 120 degrees. Medford’s all-time record high of 114 degrees, set July 20, 1946, could be threatened.

These sweltering temperatures, 20 to 30 degrees above normal, are expected in a part of the country not accustomed to such heat. The New York Times reported Tuesday that only a third of Seattle has air-conditioning. Seattle is opening cooling centers to help its citizens find relief.

The heat is the result of an unusually intense high pressure system aloft, sometimes referred to as a heat dome. The core of the heat dome is forecast to drift northward allowing more moderate temperatures to replace the punishing heat this weekend.

Methane plumes off Washington and Oregon coasts

Bubble plumes off Washington, Oregon suggest warmer ocean may be releasing frozen methane

Warming ocean temperatures a third of a mile below the surface, in a dark ocean in areas with little marine life, might attract scant attention. But this is precisely the depth where frozen pockets of methane 'ice' transition from a dormant solid to a powerful greenhouse gas.

New University of Washington research suggests that subsurface warming could be causing more methane gas to bubble up off the Washington and Oregon coast.

The study, to appear in the journal Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, shows that of 168 bubble plumes observed within the past decade, a disproportionate number were seen at a critical depth for the stability of methane hydrates.

"We see an unusually high number of bubble plumes at the depth where methane hydrate would decompose if seawater has warmed," said lead author H. Paul Johnson, a UW professor of oceanography. "So it is not likely to be just emitted from the sediments; this appears to be coming from the decomposition of methane that has been frozen for thousands of years."

Methane has contributed to sudden swings in Earth's climate in the past. It is unknown what role it might contribute to contemporary climate change, although recent studies have reported warming-related methane emissions in Arctic permafrost and off the Atlantic coast.

Of the 168 methane plumes in the new study, some 14 were located at the transition depth - more plumes per unit area than on surrounding parts of the Washington and Oregon seafloor.

If methane bubbles rise all the way to the surface, they enter the atmosphere and act as a powerful greenhouse gas. But most of the deep-sea methane seems to get consumed during the journey up. Marine microbes convert the methane into carbon dioxide, producing lower-oxygen, more-acidic conditions in the deeper offshore water, which eventually wells up along the coast and surges into coastal waterways.

"Current environmental changes in Washington and Oregon are already impacting local biology and fisheries, and these changes would be amplified by the further release of methane," Johnson said.

Another potential consequence, he said, is the destabilization of seafloor slopes where frozen methane acts as the glue that holds the steep sediment slopes in place.

Methane deposits are abundant on the continental margin of the Pacific Northwest coast. A 2014 study from the UW documented that the ocean in the region is warming at a depth of 500 meters (0.3 miles), by water that formed decades ago in a global warming hotspot off Siberia and then traveled with ocean currents east across the Pacific Ocean. That previous paper calculated that warming at this depth would theoretically destabilize methane deposits on the Cascadia subduction zone, which runs from northern California to Vancouver Island.

At the cold temperatures and high pressures present on the continental margin, methane gas in seafloor sediments forms a crystal lattice structure with water. The resulting icelike solid, called methane hydrate, is unstable and sensitive to changes in temperature. When the ocean warms, the hydrate crystals dissociate and methane gas leaks into the sediment. Some of that gas escapes from the sediment pores as a gas.

The 2014 study calculated that with present ocean warming, such hydrate decomposition could release roughly 0.1 million metric tons of methane per year into the sediments off the Washington coast, about the same amount of methane from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon blowout.

The new study looks for evidence of bubble plumes off the coast, including observations by UW research cruises, earlier scientific studies and local fishermen's reports. The authors included bubble plumes that rose at least 150 meters (490 feet) tall that clearly originate from the seafloor. The dataset included 45 plumes originally detected by fishing boats, whose modern sonars can detect the bubbles while looking for schools of fish, with their observations later confirmed during UW research cruises.

Results show that methane gas is slowly released at almost all depths along the Washington and Oregon coastal margin. But the plumes are significantly more common at the critical depth of 500 meters, where hydrate would decompose due to seawater warming.

"What we're seeing is possible confirmation of what we predicted from the water temperatures: Methane hydrate appears to be decomposing and releasing a lot of gas," Johnson said. "If you look systematically, the location on the margin where you're getting the largest number of methane plumes per square meter, it is right at that critical depth of 500 meters."

Still unknown, however, is whether these plumes are really from the dissociation of frozen methane deposits.

"The results are consistent with the hypothesis that modern bottom-water warming is causing the limit of methane hydrate stability to move downslope, but it's not proof that the hydrate is dissociating," said co-author Evan Solomon, a UW associate professor of oceanography.

Solomon is now analyzing the chemical composition of samples from bubble plumes emitted by sediments along the Washington coast at about 500 meters deep. Results will confirm whether the gas originates from methane hydrates rather than from some other source, such as the passive migration of methane from deeper reservoirs to the seafloor, which causes most of the other bubble plumes on the continental margin.
