Benny Thomas, Facebook Global Planning Lead: “I would break up Facebook"

KING ZUCK: Facebook Global Planning Lead Reveals Need for Government Intervention

‘The Single Biggest Thing is this Company Needs to be Broken Up’...‘No King in the History of the World has been the Ruler of Two Billion People, but Mark Zuckerberg is'

15 March, 2021
  • Benny Thomas, Facebook Global Planning Lead: “I would break up Facebook, which means I would make less money probably -- but I don't care. Like that's what needs to be done. Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Oculus, WhatsApp -- they all need to be separate companies. It's too much power when they’re all one together.”

  • Thomas: “Most people don’t understand these things and most people don’t think about them -- which is why a lot of sh*t goes down because a lot of people aren’t paying attention.”

  • Thomas: “No king in the history of the world has been the ruler of two billion people, but Mark Zuckerberg is -- and he’s 36. That’s too much for a 36-year-old. You should not have power over two billion people. I just think that’s wrong.”

  • Thomas: “There's always built-in [algorithmic] bias…Guess what? Human beings wrote that code.”

  • Thomas: “We’re re-looking at the algorithms, but it's such a massive and complicated thing that it takes time to fix it. Honestly, I think we need to bite the bullet and do it quicker, but you lose a lot of money as well if you do that.”

  • Thomas: “AI [Artificial Intelligence] is essentially evolving to become like human intelligence. Then, it’s going to go beyond human intelligence and at that point, humans are expendable.”

  • Thomas: “One of the things I worked on, which made me happy, was a voter registration drive…This is the kind of thing that you can only do with a company that has the sheer scale and reach of Facebook. We set ourselves a goal of registering four million new people and we went over that target.”

[NEW YORK – Mar. 15, 2021] Project Veritas released a new undercover video today in which Benny Thomas, Facebook’s Global Planning Lead, revealed that Facebook has too much power and that government action is not only warranted but necessary to limit the damage the Big Tech giant does to society.

KING ZUCK: Facebook Global Planning Lead Reveals Need for Government Intervention: ‘The Single Biggest Thing is this Company Needs to be Broken Up’...‘No King in the History of the World has been the Ruler of Two Billion People, but Mark Zuckerberg is'

Thomas expressed his desire to see Big Tech companies held to account and laid out a vision for how to accomplish that goal.

“I would break up Facebook, which means I would make less money probably -- but I don't care. Like that's what needs to be done. Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Oculus, WhatsApp -- they all need to be separate companies. It's too much power when they’re all one together,” he said.

Thomas said he was concerned by the lack of public awareness around Facebook’s excessive power. He specifically mentioned the influence Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg exerts over the company.

“Most people don’t understand these things and most people don’t think about them -- which is why a lot of sh*t goes down because a lot of people aren’t paying attention,” Thomas said.

“No king in the history of the world has been the ruler of two billion people, but Mark Zuckerberg is -- and he’s 36. That’s too much for a 36-year-old. You should not have power over two billion people. I just think that’s wrong,” he said.

“He [Zuckerberg] owns a controlling stake in the company. So, you can't do it the usual way that you do it in corporate, which is the board can just fire you, right? The board can’t do that to Zuck. The board can’t do that to Larry Page and Sergey Brin [Google] because they own too much of the company. They're too powerful. So, these are not companies anymore. These are countries,” he said.

Thomas said that Facebook’s algorithms are subject to human biases and stressed the importance of fixing the company’s algorithms and AI [Artificial Intelligence] sooner rather than later.

“There's always built-in [algorithmic] bias…Guess what? Human beings wrote that code,” he said.

“We’re re-looking at the algorithms, but it's such a massive and complicated thing that it takes time to fix it. Honestly, I think we need to bite the bullet and do it quicker, but you lose a lot of money as well if you do that,” he said.

“AI [Artificial Intelligence] is essentially evolving to become like human intelligence. Then, it’s going to go beyond human intelligence and at that point, humans are expendable…If you ever went to a picnic -- we would not spend one minute thinking about the ants that we stepped on the grass, right? From AI, we will become like those ants…So, I might be killing hundreds of ants when I walk in the park, I don’t know, and I don’t care. It’s not a thing that I care about. We will be like those ants,” he said.

Thomas admitted he was part of a Facebook project that pushed to register voters and said he believes Joe Biden benefited from it:

Benny Thomas, Facebook Global Planning Lead: “One of the things I worked on, which made me happy, was a voter registration drive. These are the kinds of things - this is the good side of Facebook. This is the kind of thing that you can only do with a company that has the sheer scale and reach of Facebook. We set ourselves a goal of registering four million new people and we went over that target, we did 4.5 [million]…”

Journalist: “Wow. Registering 4.5 million voters.”

Thomas: “It’s a lot.”

Journalist: “Yeah. I'm pretty sure he [Biden] won that way. What do you think?”

Thomas: “Exactly, I think so too.”

Left leaning researchers: “No

censorship of conservatives”

RT via Telegram

LEFT-LEANING researchers find NO ANTI-CONSERVATIVE BIAS on social media.

NYU's Stern Center for Business and Human Rights just issued a report that claims about 'anti-conservative' bias on social media platforms not only aren't true, but are a form of disinformation.

The researchers utilized a number of sources such as the democratic-leaning publication Politico and data analytics companies to find 'no concrete evidence' of conservative voices being censored on social media.

In fact, the study says, social media platforms actually AMPLIFIED the right-wingers with their algorithms to reach ‘unprecedented audiences’.

So clearly, conservatives are coming here to Telegram to get away from the fair and impartial treatment of Twitter.

FACEBOOK INSIDER LEAKS:

Zuckerberg & Execs Admit

Excessive Power

FULL LENGTH INTERNAL FACEBOOK Q & A 01-07-21

  • Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO: “I know this is just a very difficult moment for a lot of us here [at Facebook], and especially our black colleagues. It was troubling to see how people in this [Capitol] mob were treated compared to the stark contrast we saw during [Black Lives Matter] protests earlier this [past] year.”

  • Zuckerberg: “The president [Trump] intends to use his remaining time in office to undermine the peaceful and lawful transition of power.”

  • Zuckerberg: “President Biden already issued a number of Executive Orders on areas that we as a company care quite deeply about and have for some time. Areas like immigration, preserving DACA, ending restrictions on travel from Muslim-majority countries, as well as other Executive Orders on climate and advancing racial justice and equity. I think these were all important and positive steps.”

  • Zuckerberg: “We also have the first woman and the first person of color as our vice president in the history of our country…The swearing in of Vice President Harris really stands as a reminder that despite the challenges that we are facing as a country, we all have so much to be proud of.”

  • Nick Clegg, Facebook Head of Global Affairs: “There has been quite a lot of disquiet expressed by many leaders around the world…ideally we wouldn’t be making these [censorship] decisions on our own, we would be making these decisions in line with our own conformity, with democratically agreed rules and principles. At the moment, those democratically agreed rules don’t exist. We still have to make decisions in real-time.”

  • Facebook Insider still works within the organization and is willing to continue exposing its corruption.

[MENLO PARK, Calif. – Jan. 31, 2021] Project Veritas released a new video today leaked by a brave Facebook insider exposing CEO Mark Zuckerberg and other senior executives admitting to the company’s wide-ranging powers to censor political speech and promote partisan objectives.

In a Jan. 7 video, Zuckerberg is seen accusing then-President Trump of subverting the republic.

“It’s so important that our political leaders lead by example, make sure we put the nation first here, and what we’ve seen is that the president [Trump] has been doing the opposite of that…The president [Trump] intends to use his remaining time in office to undermine the peaceful and lawful transition of power,” Zuckerberg said.

“His [Trump’s] decision to use his platform to condone rather than condemn the actions of his supporters in the Capitol I think has rightly bothered and disturbed people in the US and around the world,” he said.

Zuckerberg also insinuated that Capitol protesters received better treatment than Black Lives Matter protesters.

“I know this is just a very difficult moment for a lot of us here, and especially our black colleagues. It was troubling to see how people in this [Capitol] mob were treated compared to the stark contrast we saw during protests earlier this [past] year,” he said.

Guy Rosen, Facebook's VP of Integrity, described how the platform targets speech it deems dangerous.

"We have a system that is able to freeze commenting on threads in cases where our systems are detecting that there may be a thread that has hate speech or violence... these are all things we've built over the past three-four years as part of our investments into the integrity space our efforts to protect the election," Rosen said.

In a video recorded on Jan. 21, the Facebook CEO said it was significant to see Kamala Harris assume the duties of Vice President of the United States.

“Yesterday [Jan. 20] was truly a historic day. The past few weeks have certainly been a very difficult time in our nation. But we got our new president [Biden]. We also have the first woman and the first person of color as our vice president in the history of our country,” he said.

“The swearing in of Vice President Harris really stands as a reminder that despite the challenges that we are facing as a country, we all have so much to be proud of,” he said.

Zuckerberg praised Biden and his political agenda.

“I thought President Biden’s inaugural address was very good,” Zuckerberg said.

“In his first day, President Biden already issued a number of Executive Orders on areas that we as a company care quite deeply about and have for some time,” he said. “Areas like immigration, preserving DACA, ending restrictions on travel from Muslim-majority countries, as well as other Executive Orders on climate and advancing racial justice and equity. I think these were all important and positive steps.”

In the same Jan. 21 meeting, Facebook’s Head of Global Affairs Nick Clegg addressed the international backlash that resulted from then-President Trump’s suspension from the platform.

“There has been quite a lot of disquiet expressed by many leaders around the world, from the President of Mexico to Alexei Navalny in Russia, and Chancellor Angela Merkel and others saying, ‘well this shows that private companies have got too much power...’ we agree with that,” he said.

“Ideally, we wouldn’t be making these decisions on our own, we would be making these decisions in line with our own conformity, with democratically agreed rules and principles. At the moment, those democratically agreed rules don’t exist. We still have to make decisions in real-time.”

Facebook's VP of Civil Rights, Roy Austin, said that the company's products should reflect their views on race.

“I wonder whether or not we can use Oculus to help a white police officer to understand what it feels like to be a young black man who’s stopped and searched and arrested by the police…I want every major decision to run through a civil rights lens,” Austin said.

The videos leaked to Project Veritas by the Facebook insider illustrate the prevalence of partisan views and the lack of diversity of thought within the organization.

Project Veritas strikes again!

Twitter Insider Secretly Records CEO Jack Dorsey Detailing Agenda For Further Political Censorship

Jack Dorsey, Twitter CEO: “We are focused on one account [@realDonaldTrump] right now, but this is going to be much bigger than just one account, and it’s going to go on for much longer than just this day, this week, and the next few weeks, and go on beyond the inauguration.”

Dorsey: “So, the focus is certainly on this account [@realDonaldTrump] and how it ties to real world violence. But also, we need to think much longer term around how these dynamics play out over time. I don't believe this is going away anytime soon.”

Dorsey: “You know, the U.S. is extremely divided. Our platform is showing that every single day.”

[SAN FRANCISCO – Jan. 14, 2021] Project Veritas released a new video today provided by an insider at Twitter who recorded Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey calling for more action against President Trump and his supporters on the platform.

Dorsey said that censoring Trump was just the beginning.

“We are focused on one account [@realDonaldTrump] right now, but this is going to be much bigger than just one account, and it’s going to go on for much longer than just this day, this week, and the next few weeks, and go on beyond the inauguration,” he said.

“So, the focus is certainly on this account [@realDonaldTrump] and how it ties to real world violence. But also, we need to think much longer term around how these dynamics play out over time. I don't believe this is going away anytime soon.”

Dorsey said that political tensions are high in the United States.

“You know, the U.S. is extremely divided. Our platform is showing that every single day,” he said.

The Twitter insider contacted Project Veritas using the VeritasTips@protonmail.com email address. Project Veritas invites more insiders within Twitter and other tech companies to come forward with further evidence of corruption and malfeasance.

No such thing as election fraud?’ Texas political consultant ARRESTED for ballot harvesting after Project Veritas exposé

RT,
13 January, 2021
A Texas political consultant has been arrested for voter fraud, after her actions were exposed in multiple Project Veritas videos, in which she admitted to ballot harvesting and being paid for “getting the Biden vote out.”

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced the arrest of Raquel Rodriguez on Wednesday. In a public statement, Paxton called claims that there is no voter fraud “false and misleading.”

“Many continue to claim that there’s no such thing as election fraud. We’ve always known that such a claim is false and misleading, and today we have additional hard evidence. This is a victory for election integrity,” he said, going on to cite the Project Veritas videos as the reason for launching the criminal probe in the first place.

“For those in the news media who say there is no such thing as voter fraud and what we do is nothing more than an attempt to ‘undermine elections,’ TAKE A SEAT!” Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe wrote on Twitter in celebration of the news. He then directly called out members of the media who had refuted voter-fraud claims pushed by President Donald Trump and his supporters.

In undercover videos, Rodriguez can be seen convincing at least one voter to change their preference from Republican to Democrat, and giving the same senior citizen gifts, both of which break election laws. Rodriguez goes on to admit she often gifts seniors and ex-prisoners in exchange for votes for certain candidates, and says she is paid for her work.

“Yeah, I’m getting the Biden vote out, but I mean I’m not going to do it for free – in other words, if they don’t pay me, I’m like, ‘excuse me?’” she says.

Rodriguez did not specify who, if anyone, had paid her for Biden votes, but claimed many Republican officials in Texas were trying to “help” in that endeavor. She also identified numerous local officials for whom she had helped harvest ballots in exchange for money or political favors.

Rodriguez is facing charges of “election fraud, illegal voting, unlawfully assisting people voting by mail, and unlawfully possessing an official ballot.” She admitted in one Veritas video that what she was doing was illegal and she“could go to jail.” She now faces up to 20 years in prison for her alleged crimes.

Though Rodriguez primarily admitted to local election fraud, theories about fraud in the presidential election have become a particularly hot-button issue since the storming of the US Capitol last week by Trump supporters. The riot occurred immediately after a speech from the president in which he continued to claim he had won the election, despite his many attempts to overturn the results in court having led nowhere.

Since then, the Democrats have floated possible actions Congress could take to silence election-fraud theories from both the media and Republican lawmakers. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) this week suggested a congressional committee be held to “rein in the media environment” and prevent falsehoods about election fraud from continuing to be spread.

Rep. Jason Crow (D-Colorado) also claimed on Wednesday that he and other lawmakers are considering taking action to censure or expel Republican congressional members who continue to claim there was fraud in the presidential election, such as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia).

"RE-EDUCATION CAMPS FOR CHILDREN OF TRUMP SUPPORTERS: PBS Principal Counsel outs himself

If you still harbour some lingering doubts as to what Biden's Democrats have in store for their enemies watch this!

MUST WATCH!

They say that Trump and others are guilty of incitement!!

PBS Principal Counsel Michael Beller Incites Political Violence In Radical Left-Wing Agenda

Should this ever disappear you can go HERE

  • Michael Beller, PBS principal counsel: “We go for all the Republican voters and Homeland Security will take their children away…we’ll put them into the re-education camps.”

  • Beller: “Enlightenment camps. They’re nice, they have Sesame Street characters in the classrooms, and they watch PBS all day.

  • Beller: “Americans are so f*cking dumb. You know, most people are dumb. It’s good to live in a place [Washington, D.C.] where people are educated and know stuff. Could you imagine if you lived in one of these other towns or cities where everybody's just stupid?”

  • Beller: “What’s great is that COVID is spiking in all the red states right now. So that’s great…a lot of them [red state voters] are sick and dying.”

  • PBS is a non-profit institution receiving millions of dollars per year from the federal government

[WASHINGTON, D.C. – Jan. 12, 2021] Project Veritas released a new video today exposing Michael Beller, Principal Counsel for The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), for his statements defending violent attacks on the White House, re-education for the children of Trump supporters and praising the deaths of red state voters as a result of COVID-19.

In a conversation with a Veritas journalist, Beller explained his violent intentions:

Michael Beller: “In these times, which are unique -- I mean Trump -- Trump is close to Hitler.”

Journalist: “What are you going to do if we [Democrats] don’t win?”

Beller: “Go to the White House and throw Molotov cocktails.”

Beller said that the children of Trump supporters were being raised to be horrible people, and that a solution would be sending those children to re-education camps.

“They’ll [Trump supporters] be raising a generation of intolerant, horrible people – horrible kids,” Beller said.

“We go for all the Republican voters and Homeland Security will take their children away…we’ll put them into the re-education camps,” he said.

“Enlightenment camps. They’re nice, they have Sesame Street characters in the classrooms, and they watch PBS all day,” he said.

Beller told the Veritas journalist that he was happy to live in Washington D.C. instead of a small town in the United States. He said that people in those towns are not intelligent.

“Americans are so f*cking dumb. You know, most people are dumb. It’s good to live in a place where people are educated and know stuff. Could you imagine if you lived in one of these other towns or cities where everybody's just stupid?”

Beller said it was a good thing that COVID-19 expanded in states where Republican candidates often win elections. He said it would help his political objectives if voters in those states did not show up to vote given that they would likely be sick or dying:

Beller: “What’s great is that COVID is spiking in all the red states right now. So that’s great.”

Journalist: “Why do you think so?”

Beller: “Because either those people won’t come out to vote for Trump -- you know the red states -- or a lot of them are sick and dying.”

Project Veritas releases audio that confirms what we know about Julian Assange

In Leaked Audio, Julian Assange Warns Clinton State Department Lawyer About Cables Stolen From WikiLeaks

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange warned the Hillary Clinton-led State Department that a rogue employee had stolen a trove of classified cables from the whistleblower organization and was about to release it.

Zero Hedge,

16 December, 2020

Leaked audio obtained by Project Veritas reveals that in 2011, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange warned the Hillary Clinton-led State Department that a rogue employee had stolen a trove of classified cables from the whistleblower organization and was about to release it.

Assange told State Department attorney Cliff Johnson that WikiLeaks had planned to release the cables with sensitive information redacted, and expressed concern over endangering people by what he believed to be a reckless release.

"Yes, so the situation is that we have intelligence that the State Department Database Archive of 250,000 diplomatic cables including declassified cables is being spread around and is to the degree that we believe that within the next few days it will become public," said Assange, adding "We're not sure but the timing could be imminently or within the next few days to a week and there may be some possibility to stop it."

State Department attorney Cliff Johnson: “Who would be releasing these cables? Is
this WikiLeaks?”

Julian Assange: “No, we would not be releasing them--this is Daniel Domscheit-Berg, a previous employee that we suspended last August.”

Johnson: “And he apparently has access to the material that Wikileaks also has?”

Assange: “Yes. That’s correct.”

Johnson: “And he has access to everything you have is that right?”

Assange: “That's correct.”

Johnson: “OK. And that includes classified as well as the unclassified cables.”

Assange: “That's correct.”

Listen to part of the 75-minute conversation:

"The thing that stands out throughout this tape is that over and over again, Assange expresses his concern for the people endangered by what he believes to be a reckless release—like when he told Johnson: ‘In case there are any individuals who haven't been warned that they should be warned.’," said Veritas founder James O'Keefe - adding "Political pressure is building for President Donald Trump to pardon Assange at the end of his first term and this tape goes a long way to rebooting how he has been portrayed."

State Department attorney thanks assange (more via Project Veritas):

Although Assange said to the attorney, he did not actually control the classified information, he did have the encryption key to unlock the materials and he knew where on the web it was being held.

“The material, there is an encrypted version of the materials on the web somewhere, that we do not control,” Assange said. “One doesn't actually need to convey the material itself, one only needs to convey the location of the material, and its encryption key.”

With Assange’s help, the journalist said he believed the U.S. government with its resources could corral the information in time to prevent its release or to even eliminate the files covertly.

“If there is another possibility which is the taking down of those files, that is a degree of research and effort that we do not have the capacity to do,” he said. “There are not so many of them.”

Cliff Johnson: “And, you know all the locations of them, do you think?”

Julian Assange: “We know several and it's probably not that hard to find the others.”

Johnson: “Can you provide us with that location information?”

Assange: “I can encourage other people to do so.”

Johnson: “Right. I appreciate what you've told us Mr. Assange.”

Assange’s work with Manning made him a fugitive from American justice

The Australian-born journalist has been targeted by the U.S. government since 2011, when he partnered with Pvt. Chelsea Manning, an Army intelligence specialist, to release documents and videos Manning downloaded from Army computers.

Manning pleaded guilty to violating the Espionage Act and the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and accepted a 35-year sentence.

President Barack Obama commuted Manning’s sentence to time served, roughly seven years, Jan. 17, 2017—three days before the end of his term.

For many years, Assange was holed up in the Ecuador’s embassy in London, until he was turned out in 2019, and then apprehended by British officials acting in concert with the U.S. government.

The day he was arrested by British officials, April 11, 2019, the Justice Department unsealed its indictment of Assange charging him with conspiracy to commit computer intrusion, or hacking. The conspiracy charge carries a maximum of five years in prison and stems from Assuage offering Manning help cracking a government password.

Journalists have broad privilege to publish classified or otherwise illegally obtained information, only if they do not participate in the acquisition.

Assange remains in British incarceration awaiting his January hearing where it will be decided if the United Kingdom will extradite the WikiLeaks founder to the United States.

Julian Assange Has Formally Requested a Pardon From President Donald Trump

the Gateway Pundit,

16 December, 2020

Julian Assange formally requested a pardon from President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning, the Gateway Pundit can now reveal.

People from across the political spectrum have called on President Trump to pardon the WikiLeaks founder, citing the importance of the freedom to publish.

Assange’s fiancé Stella Morris, the mother of his two young children, has previously called for a pardon — but a formal request was not filed with the White House until this week.

Assange is imprisoned in the United Kingdom pending a decision about his extradition to the United States where he faces charges under the Espionage Act for his publication of the Iraq and Afghan War Logs. If convicted he could face a maximum sentence of 175 years for the “crime” of publishing material that the US government did not want the population to know.

In 2018, President Trump’s attorneys quietly made a case in defense of WikiLeaks throughout legal filings responding to a lawsuit filed by Democrat Party donors who alleged that the campaign and former advisor Roger Stone conspired with Russians to publish the leaked Democratic National Committee emails.

Their assessment was correct.

Buried within hundreds of pages of case filings, in a motion filed in October 2018, Trump lawyer Michael A. Carvin argued that under section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (47 U.S.C. § 230), “a website that provides a forum where ‘third parties can post information’ is not liable for the third party’s posted information.”

“That is so even when even when the website performs ‘editorial functions’ ‘such as deciding whether to publish,’” the filing contends. “Since WikiLeaks provided a forum for a third party (the unnamed ‘Russian actors’) to publish content developed by that third party (the hacked emails), it cannot be held liable for the publication.”

This defense holds true for the war log releases that Assange has been charged for publishing.

“In addition, the First Amendment generally denies the government power to punish truthful speech,” Carvin wrote. He added that privacy cannot justify these violations of core First Amendment norms. The filing then refers to the 1989 case of Florida Star v. B.J.F., in which it was determined that “punishing truthful publication in the name of privacy” is an “extraordinary measure.”

The formal pardon request comes on the heels of a viral claim from a Trump ally that the president would be pardoning the publisher. While he ended up retracting his statement, claiming he had faulty sources, it was clear that it was a move that people from both sides of the political spectrum support. The tweet gained over 75,000 “likes” on Twitter in about an hour, before being retracted.

National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden weighed in on the news saying that “I very much hope this is true. The case against Assange is based on a legal theory that would criminalize the work of every journalist, both at home and abroad.”

Snowden has previously lobbied for a pardon for Assange, even before one for himself.

“Mr. President, if you grant only one act of clemency during your time in office, please: free Julian Assange. You alone can save his life,” Snowden tweeted earlier this month.

Project Veritas Infiltrates CNN

Project Veritas Infiltrates CNN 'Rundown' Calls; Execs Trash Trump, Call Tucker Carlson 'White Supremacy Hour'

Zero Hedge,

2 December, 2020

Project Veritas has done it again - this time having surreptitiously recorded CNN's 9 a.m. morning 'rundown' calls for months, during which they recorded CNN president Jeff Zucker and other executives telling their fake news foot soldiers how to spin the news.

The first batch of several upcoming dumps has dropped with the hashtag #CNNTapes, featuring Zucker and other executives suggesting they need to 'not normalize' Trump's behavior, target Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and that Fox News host Tucker Carlson's show is "white supremacy hour."

Highlights via Project Veritas (emphasis ours):

  • CNN President Jeff Zucker: “This is a president who knows he's losing, who knows he's in trouble, is sick, maybe is on the aftereffects of steroids or not. I don't know. But he is acting erratically and desperately, and we need to not normalize that.”
  • Zucker: “You know, this is what we've come to expect for the last three and a half years, four years, but it clearly is exacerbated by the time that we're in and the issues that he's [Trump] dealing with. I think that we cannot just let it be normalized. He is all over the place and acting erratically, and I think we need to lean into that.
  • Zucker: “Frankly, if we've made any mistake, it's been that our banners have been too polite, and we need to go well after Lindsey Graham.
  • Zucker: “There's a ton going on. Let’s stay strong. Let's stay newsy. Let’s stay urgent. Let’s be smart. There is a lot of news out there, and Lindsey Graham really deserves it.”
  • David Vigilante, CNN General Counsel: “Yeah, I was just going to say, if you're going to talk about the story, I think it's unavoidable that you have to talk about the naked racism of Tucker Carlson. Because that's really what drove this anti-diversity push, you know, Trump watches Tucker Carlson's show and then reacts. And just as sort of the white supremacy hour they have on Fox News every night, I think it's the --- You can't disconnect the two.”
  • Stephanie Becker, CNN field producer: “On the issue of why it's important to get the transition going right, the 9-11 report talks about one of the problems was that the trouble that was brewing that lost during the transition. So, if you want a good, concrete example of what happens when you don't have a good transition, well, look at the Twin Towers.
