The latest from Fukushima - partial meltdown

Yesterday the media came through with two articles, one from the Telegraph, the other from the Independent, confirming that the fuel rods on nuclear reactor no. 1 at Fukushima are exposed to  the air and the reactor is leaking huge amounts of radiation; basically there has been a partial meltdown.

I looked in vain for followup from our own NZ media - indeed from the media as a whole. Generally this slow-moving catastrophe is being ignored.
