Covid news from Britain - 27 January, 2021

Anyone trying to leave the UK will have to declare they have a valid reason

Priti Patel announced the drastic new Covid restriction to crack down on people who are still leaving the country for holidays despite the national lockdown

the Sun,

27 January, 2021

Anyone trying to leave the UK will now have to declare they have a valid reason - or risk being fined or sent home from an airport.

Home Secretary Priti Patel announced the crackdown today as she hit out at the minority of Brits who are continuing to go on holiday during lockdown.

She said people will have to declare their reason in advance to the airline or carrier they book with.

There will be more police at ports and airports - and people without a valid reason for travel will be sent home or fined for breaching lockdown.

But she did not give any detail on when the restriction will come into force, or give a full list of valid reasons.

She said airlines and carriers will now have liability for checking travellers - and will face fines themselves if they do not comply.

People in England are currently banned from staying overnight away from home unless they have a reasonable excuse under the national lockdown. Those who break the rules face £200 fines for a first offence.

That means foreign travel from England is effectively illegal unless it is for certain purposes such as work or medical care.

Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland also have their own separate Covid restrictions with their own levels of fines.

Ms Patel announced today: “For those travelling out of the UK we will also be enhancing and stepping up enforcement rules.

Brits returning to the UK from high-risk coronavirus hotspots will be forced to quarantine in hotels to limit the spread of new variants, Boris Johnson confirmed today.

The Prime Minister finally announced the policy almost a year to the day after the first Covid-19 cases were discovered in the UK.

But Home Secretary Priti Patel gave no date for when the changes will come in - instead saying the Department for Health will "set out further details on this approach next week". She said discussions with hotel chains were still "under way".

There was also initial confusion about how many countries were affected. Boris Johnson said the restrictions would apply to people who had been in 22 countries, but the government later said 30 are affected.

HSBC threatens to close bank accounts of those who refuse masks

HSBC Threatens to Close Accounts of Customers Who Refuse to ‘Mask-up’

21st Century Wire,

13 January, 2021

Recently, 21WIRE has highlighted the highly credible, in-depth peer-reviewed scientific study out of Denmark, which proves beyond any doubt that masks do very little, if anything, to stop the transfer of viruses between humans. Despite the bountiful evidence on this issue, such studies on the efficacy and health side effects from masks have been routinely ignored by public health gurus in ‘pandemic’ policy leaders the UK and US. Why? Because the findings of these studies go against the government and media narrative.

This latest move to criminalize non-mask wearers by leading retail bank HSBC takes the pandemic ‘health and safety’ craze to new extremes – despite the fact that neither corporations, nor the government can provide any actual proof that the threat of COVID is somehow greater today than it was in March 2020, the groupthink on evidence-free policy decisions continue.

Are we now seeing the final steps of an extreme social engineering agenda being implemented?

The UK Mirror reports…

HSBC has issued a warning to customers as retailers step up coronavirus safety measures amid a further 1,243 deaths. The lender – which also owns First Direct and Marks & Spencer bank – said customers who break the law could forfeit their bank account.

Speaking to The Mirror, a spokesman said face masks are mandatory in all branches as per government guidelines.

Those who refuse to comply will be refused service and could have their bank accounts withdrawn.

Jackie Uhi, head of branch network, HSBC UK said: “Our branch colleagues are key workers, continuing to go to work in our branches every day so that customers who need them can access essential financial services.

“Sadly, some people are failing to protect themselves, our branch colleagues and other customers by refusing to wear a face covering inside our branches or observe social distancing.

“Our colleagues deserve respect and should not have to face violent or abusive behaviour. Consider whether you need to visit the branch or could manage your banking from the safety of your home via our digital channels.

“If you do visit us, please wear a face covering and maintain a safe distance from others. If individuals put themselves or our colleagues at risk, without a medical exemption, we reserve the right to withdraw their account”

The Mirror has also asked Santander, Barclays, Lloyds, Natwest and Nationwide for updated guidance and will update this story in due course.

The Post Office said customers must obey the law, but warned it will not be enforcing measures.

“Postmasters that they can ask a customer who is not wearing a facemask if they are medically exempt, but the customer is not required to provide medical proof if they do not have it with them when they visit a branch,” a spokesman said.

“Post Office will implement any updated guidance issued by the UK Government or Devolved Governments. At this stage, Post Office has not advised Postmasters to refuse entry to any customer that does not have a face mask.

Fascism descends on Australia

James Delingpole is a notorious climate change denier, but nevertheless I believe he is largely correct in this article.

Fascism has descended on Australia and the same is likely to happen in New Zealand

Delingpole: Australian State

Goes Full Coronafascist

Breitbart,

7 August, 2020

We had to smash car windows and pull people out because they wouldn’t give us details… they wouldn’t tell us where they’re going”, declares a senior Australian policeman dressed from head to toe in black.

No, this is not a scene from a prequel to Mad Max where Australia gets taken over by fascists. This is actually happening right now in the Australian state of Victoria, under the regime of power-crazed, hard left premier Daniel Andrews. (Or ‘Kim Jong Dan’, as he is known locally.

Victoria has adopted some of the strictest coronavirus rules anywhere in the world, including an 8 p.m. curfew and police roadblocks to discourage any citizens with pesky notions about personal freedom.

Police are even allowed into your home to carry out spot checks — without a warrant and without your permission.

One or two Australians are resisting and Victoria’s Police Commissioner Shane Patton is responding with the full force of the law.

Groups of people who classify themselves as ‘sovereign citizens’ — whatever that might mean — people who don’t think the law applies to them: we’ve seen them at checkpoints baiting police, not providing their name and address.”
On at least three or four occasions in the past week we’ve had to smash the windows of people in cars and pull them out of there so they could provide their details because they weren’t telling us where they were going. They weren’t adhering to the Chief Health Officer guidelines. They weren’t providing their name and their address.”

So presumably, in order to justify these extreme measures, the state of Victoria must be experiencing an exceptional, indeed, unprecedented crisis?

Nope. Not remotely.

In the state of Victoria there had been just 162 deaths attributed to coronavirus. Even in the whole of Australia the total was only 247.

To put this into perspective, this is less than half the number of people who die in Australia every year from skin diseases, and about one-fifth of the number killed in car accidents.

Australia likes to call itself ‘The Lucky Country’. It prides itself on its no-nonsense, independent, good-humoured, matey culture and its aversion to petty rules and regulation.

But clearly Victoria’s premier Dan Andrews — and his various black-clad henchmen — hasn’t got the memo.

Here — courtesy of Lockdown Sceptics — are the new rules imposed on Victoria’s state capitol of Melbourne, to be enforced for at least the next six weeks:

  • The “state of emergency” in Victoria has been upgraded to a “state of disaster”, meaning police can now enter your home to carry out spot checks even if you don’t give them permission and they don’t have a warrant.

  • Between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., you’re not allowed to leave your homes except for work, medical care and caregiving.

  • Outside those hours, you may only leave your home for four reasons: shopping for food and essential items, care and caregiving, daily exercise and work. “We can no longer have people simply out and about for no good reason whatsoever,” said Kim Jong Dan.

  • Daily exercise can only take place within a 5km radius of your home and cannot last longer than an hour.

  • You cannot exercise in groups of more than two, even if they’re members of the same household.

  • Apart from daily exercise, you are only allowed to leave your home once a day for essential supplies and food.

  • In the whole of Victoria, you cannot buy more than two of certain essential items, including dairy, meat, vegetables, fish and toilet paper.

  • Schools have closed again, with all Victoria school students returning to remote learning from Wednesday (except for vulnerable children and children of permitted workers). Childcare and kindergarten will be closed from Thursday.

  • Golf and tennis venues, which were open, have now been closed.

  • Weddings will no longer be allowed from Thursday, and funerals will be limited to 10 people.

  • Face nappies anywhere outside your home have been mandatory for people in metropolitan Melbourne since July 22nd, but that rule has now been extended to the entire state of Victoria.

  • You cannot have visitors or go to another person’s house unless it is for the purpose of giving or receiving care. However, you can leave your house to visit a person if you are in an “intimate personal relationship” with them, even during curfew hours. So no “bonk ban”.

  • If you have a holiday home or were planning a holiday outside Melbourne, tough cheese. You must remain in the city for the next six weeks.

  • The maximum fine for breaching a health order currently stands at $1,652, but Kim Jong Dan said he would have more to say about penalties later today, i.e. he’s going to increase them.

Perhaps the most depressing thing of all is that a lot of Victorians appear to be enjoying Kim Jong Dan’s iron grip.

According to this ‘postcard from Melbourne’ from one of the few dissenters in Victoria, one enthusiast of the draconian rules and regs has actually produced a homeware range featuring portraits of the Covidfascists responsible: Minister for Health Jenny Mikakos; Premier Dan Andrews; Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton.

Victoria’s “endgame” with COVID-19 no longer includes elimination and mandatory mask wearing is likely to remain a permanent feature of daily life for years until a vaccine is found for the killer virus.

In disturbing new evidence to the state’s inquiry into the coronavirus second wave outbreak in Victoria, the Premier Dan Andrews has warned it’s a feature of outbreaks around the world that the second phase of infections is often more deadly than the first.

When asked what the “endgame” of the extreme restrictions were the state’s chief health officer Brett Sutton also confirmed it was suppression, rather than elimination and it could be a battle that lasts for years.

He also signalled that public mask wearing would have to remain as a “baseline” restriction for a long time.

Very lax border controls in NZ

Whatever you think about the nature of covid19 this is pretty

basic incompetence.

This looks like a return to what we were seeing prior to the

lockdown

Returning traveller shocked
at Covid-19 border measures

Radio NZ

A woman who's just left managed isolation at Novotel Auckland Airport says the Government is lying about the adequacy of its border testing regime.

The woman, who Checkpoint has agreed not to identify, arrived home on June 4.

She says multiple people were allowed to leave the hotel without undergoing a single test for Covid-19.

That's despite the Director-General of Health claiming no one is leaving managed isolation without first returning a negative test.

The woman told Checkpoint reporter Nick Truebridge she was gobsmacked by the lax attitude of health authorities upon her return to New Zealand.

"We have added to our existing strong arrangements the requirement for routine testing on day three and 12 for every person, whether they are symptomatic or not," director-general of health Dr Ashley Bloomfield says.

"These changes meant that everyone in managed isolation will be tested twice for COVID-19 and will need to have returned a negative test result before leaving a facility.

"No one is now allowed to leave managed isolation, for any reason, without returning a negative test for COVID-19."

The Defence Force is ready to respond with aircraft, vehicles and personnel if the public doesn't comply with isolation rules during lockdown.

Commander Joint Forces NZ Rear Admiral Jim Gilmour said they have military planners and people with specialist skills working with the Government to assist in the response.

"We have a range of capabilities should these be required to assist in the response to Covid-19, including transport aircraft and vehicles, and skilled personnel who can assist other government agencies if needed," he said.

"We have initiated Operation Protect to focus and organise our contributions to the all-of-government effort to respond to, and manage the effects of Covid-19."

The Great Reset Plan Revealed: How COVID Ushers In The New World Order

Everyone would like to live in a world that is more equal and just. However, just as with covid19 and the “war on racism” these things are meant in an Orwellian sense ('freedom is slavery')

I remember a conversation in the 80's whereby technology would free humans from work and the biggest problem would be what we would do with our leisure. However, these let to the exact opposite in short order: workers became slaves and had to work longer hours than ever before for less and less.

Think that it is different this time round?

The Great Reset

https://www.weforum.org/great-reset

For months we have seen our way of life change dramatically. We have been told time and time again things will never be the same and we must accept the new normal. Now the social engineers have revealed their hand and officially launched their solution to this crisis. The proposed solution is the Great Reset. In this report we examine what exactly is the great reset and who is involved. We also explore what the Great Reset means for humanity as face unprecedented times. Now is the time for a 'great reset'

The Great Reset

What is the Fourth Industrial Revolution?

What is the Fourth Industrial Revolution?

Ubiquitous, mobile supercomputing. Artificially-intelligent robots. Self-driving cars. Neuro-technological brain enhancements. Genetic editing. The evidence of dramatic change is all around us and it’s happening at exponential speed.

Previous industrial revolutions liberated humankind from animal power, made mass production possible and brought digital capabilities to billions of people. This Fourth Industrial Revolution is, however, fundamentally different. It is characterized by a range of new technologies that are fusing the physical, digital and biological worlds, impacting all disciplines, economies and industries, and even challenging ideas about what it means to be human.
