shares in trading halt
Shares
in the ANZ bank are in a trading halt this morning.

The
stock exhange operator said today that, at the request of the
company, it has placed a trading halt on ANZ ordinary shares listed
on the NZSX market.
The
trading halt is in place pending the release to the market of ANZ's
half year result.
Market
analyst Robert Garden told TVNZ that a trading halt before a
half-year result is not "ordinary practice" but the bank
has done so previously.
The
shares are not halted on the ASX, Garden said
