Kathleen Hawk Sawyer made the admission during a line of questioning involving Sen. Lindsay Graham, in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
“With a case this high profile, there has got to be either a major malfunction of the system or criminal enterprise at foot to allow this to happen. So are you looking at both, is the FBI looking at both?” the South Carolina Republican senator asked.
“The FBI is involved and they are looking at criminal enterprise, yes,” Sawyer responded. -Fox News
Two federal correctional officers who were on duty the night Jeffrey Epstein died were arrested early Tuesday on federal charges related to their failure to check on him the night he died in his cell, according to the New York Times, citing a person with knowledge of the matter.
The two federal Bureau of Prisons employees were expected to be charged later Tuesday morning and appear in United States District Court in Manhattan.
The charges would be the first to arise from a criminal inquiry into the death of Mr. Epstein, who hanged himself at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges. -NYT
The guards faced harsh scrutiny after Epstein was found unresponsive in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City on August 10, after failing to check on him every 30 minutes as required. Instead, they fell asleep for hours and falsified records to cover up what they had done according to reports.
Prosecutors offered the officers a plea deal according to CNN, which they declined, reporting that "at least one federal prison worker on duty the night before Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his prison cell was offered a plea deal in connection with the multimillionaire's death."
Of the two officers who had the responsibility to monitor Epstein, one was not a detention guard but was temporarily reassigned to that post, according to CNN reporting. The guard, a man not identified by officials, had previously been trained as a corrections officer but had moved to another position. Rules at the Federal Bureau of Prisons allow people who work in other prison jobs, such as teachers and cooks, to be trained to fill in for posts usually manned by regular guards.
The official ruling on Epstein's death was suicide, although skeptics have suggested that Epstein's sudden death was all too convenient as it also buried the toxic secrets of countless implicated "luminaries" and Wall Street and Beltway VIPs across all sectors of US life.
At the end of October, prominent forensic expert Michael Baden refuted the official narrative, stating at the end of October that Epstein was "strangulated."

Epstein Autopsy Results Show He Hanged Himself in Suicide
The
New York City chief medical examiner’s determination refutes
conspiracy theories that he may have been murdered.
The
official results of an autopsy showed that the financier Jeffrey
Epstein killed himself in his Manhattan jail cell, the city’s
medical examiner’s office said on Friday, determining that the
cause of death was suicide by hanging.
Mr.
Epstein’s death had set off a wave of unfounded conspiracy
theories, as people speculated online, without evidence, that he may
have been killed to keep him from providing information to
prosecutors about others in his social circle, including President
Trump, former President Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew of Britain.
But
on Friday, the chief medical examiner in New York City, Dr. Barbara
Sampson, released a terse statement saying that, after an autopsy and
a “careful review of all investigative information,” she had
determined the cause of Mr. Epstein’s death was “hanging” and
the manner was “suicide.”
The
determination came six days after Mr. Epstein, 66, was found dead in
his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, where
he was awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.

Guards
on their morning rounds found Mr. Epstein at about 6:30 a.m. on
Saturday, prison officials said. He appeared to have tied a bedsheet
to the top of a set of bunk beds, then knelt toward the floor with
enough force that he broke several bones in his neck, officials said.
His
suicide followed an apparent attempt to kill himself in late July,
and came 12 days after prison staff had recommended he be removed
from suicide watch and returned to the special wing in which he was
being housed.
Mr.
Epstein’s death is the subject of four federal investigations,
including by the Justice Department’s inspector general and the
F.B.I. The attorney general, William P. Barr, said there were
“serious irregularities” in how prison officials handled his
supervision.
On
July 23, Mr. Epstein was found on the floor of his cell with bruises
on his neck and was placed in the prison’s suicide prevention
program, where he was under a 24-hour watch in a special cell.
But
six days later, prison officials determined he was no longer a threat
to himself and returned him to a cell in a special housing unit known
as 9 South. He was supposed to have been housed with a cellmate and
to have been monitored every half-hour by the two guards who
patrolled the wing.
The
night before he was found, however, he had been left alone after his
cellmate was transferred. The two employees assigned to guard him had
not checked on him for about three hours before he was discovered.
Officials
said the employees, who have been placed on leave, were sleeping for
some or all of that time.
Mr.
Epstein had pleaded not guilty and been denied bail. Prosecutors in
Manhattan said he lured dozens of underage girls into giving him
erotic massages and engaging in other sexual acts in the early 2000s
at his mansions in New York City and Palm Beach, Fla.
The
girls were paid hundreds of dollars in cash for the encounters and,
once recruited, were asked to return to his homes several times,
where they were abused again, the indictment against him said.
Mr.
Epstein had previously avoided federal criminal charges in 2008, when
he pleaded guilty to state prostitution charges in Florida in a plea
agreement with federal prosecutors that resolved a similar set of
allegations. He spent 13 months in a local jail, but was allowed to
leave for 12 hours a day, six days a week, ostensibly for work.
The
conspiracy theories surrounding Mr. Epstein’s death were fueled in
part by a paucity of information from Bureau of Prison officials
since his body was discovered.
The
bureau issued one terse statement with little information about the
circumstances of his death and has never provided information about
Mr. Epstein’s earlier apparent suicide attempt.
On
Monday, the federal judge in Mr. Epstein’s case, Richard M. Berman,
noted the unanswered questions about the July incident. “It has
never been definitively explained what the B.O.P. concluded,” Judge
Berman wrote in a letter to the warden of the Metropolitan
Correctional Center on Monday.
Given
the lack of explanation, the high-profile nature of Mr. Epstein’s
crimes and the disgraced financier’s ties to a number of prominent
people, wild theories about his death spread across social media from
people of disparate ideologies.
Several
prominent figures in politics, media and academia, while insisting
they were not conspiracy theorists, expressed skepticism that Mr.
Epstein had killed himself. Mr. Trump, who has shared unfounded
conspiracy theories in the past, also contributed to the frenzy,
sharing a tweet with a baseless theory about Mr. Epstein and the
Clintons.
Dr.
Sampson, the medical examiner, said on Sunday night that her office
had conducted an autopsy of Mr. Epstein but declined to release a
determination about the cause of death. A city official said at the
time that she wanted more information from law enforcement before
releasing her determination. A private pathologist hired by Mr.
Epstein’s lawyer observed the autopsy.
On
Thursday, an article in The Washington Post fueled further
speculation when it reported that Mr. Epstein’s autopsy showed that
he had broken neck bones that could have been a sign of strangulation
as well as of suicide by hanging.
But
Dr. Sampson and several experts cautioned against drawing
conclusions, saying the broken bones were consistent with hanging,
especially in an older man.

[ Editor’s Note: Epstein dead comes as no surprise to us at VT. He was at a dead end road, with his only way out to turn over all those he had worked with. He was kept in Manhattan as that is the only place where a high profile guy dangerous to many many high level people could kill himself, or be killed, while on a suicide watch.
Watch now how much, or how little is done, to find out how he really died. There will be a push to downgrade the coverage now that he is dead, with “we will never know now what really happened”, coverage.
But actually we know a lot already as Epstein had been under surveillance for a long time based on the powerful people he hung out with, especially the AIPAC crowd. While public prosecutions of such high level people were not possible, US security people were watching them to try to keep up on what they were doing.
It is a huge scandal, and we see no one in government that will step in front of this freight train that is going to run over and bury the Epstein story, not during a Trump administration anyway.
The press has already been seeded with a number of denial stories, like Dershowitz, Richardson and others like the Prince, despite the photo of him with Virginia Roberts Giuffre.
What everyone was hopeful for was that Epstein would roll over on them in return for being allowed 18 to 21 year old girls to visit him in prison, in the new private wing he would build inside the fences, while he spent years revealing his espionage work.
The wet finger in the air now is will there be calls of an independent investigation on how he died, or will it be left in the hands of those who had jurisdiction over him.
And I would not want to be Ghislaine Maxwell now, if she is still alive. She is now the big witness as to who did what to who back when. One day after Jeffrey Epstein was tied to scandal ridden Clinton Energy Secretary, Bill Richardson, in a sex and Mossad blackmail scandal, Epstein is dead. Our sources say Richardson was under investigation for a far wider range of security issues, including a role in facilitating the theft of weapons grade fissionable material from the PANTEX weapons disassembly facility in Amarillo, Texas.

Jeffrey Epstein is dead, 24 hours after a story broke tying him to bizarre sex parties with what the media calls “former New Mexico governor (and Clinton friend), Bill Richardson. The “suicide” was then a certainty as the Epstein case finally broke through the “smear” stage, Trump, Dershowitz accused of child rape, and a list just released with a hundred other names including national leaders.
Richardson was different.
At around 9AM, accused sex trafficker, alleged Mossad blackmailer, Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his cell at the Manhattan Corrections Center. Stories say “suicide”, but this is unlikely, perhaps even impossible.
Only two weeks prior, Epstein was found unconscious, a victim of an attempted strangling. There was no investigation, no report, he was hospitalized and returned to the same cell where he has been under 24-hour observation.
If Epstein killed himself, he did it while being watched by two guards. The Manhattan Corrections Center and other facilities in New York are tightly controlled by a shared responsibility, not any official government organization, not in New York, but rather by Israel’s security services and, to an equal extent, the organized crime group called the Kosher Nostra.
As America’s cities go, New York is far more Israeli than American, something both good and bad, as we are going to outline.
The key to Epstein’s death is the media outlet called the Daily Beast. They have been tasked with pushing the Epstein story, assuming all major media operations are controlled, and spinning facts to avoid certain embarrassing directions.
The “Beast,” as it is called, was begun as part of the Newsweek organization owned by then Democratic Congresswoman Jane Harman, one of the most powerful figures in the AIPAC/ADL lobby that assures the US will back all Israeli political moves in the Middle East.

The agent spoken of is Jonathan Pollard who spent 28 years in an American prison for, as the media says, giving Israel information on Palestinian terror camps. Sources at the CIA tell a very different story, that Pollard accessed the full list of CIA NOC (non-official cover) agents and sold it to the highest bidder.
According to CIA sources, over 1000 American agents, many “deep cover” CIA operatives were captured, tortured and murdered due to the efforts of Pollard, efforts Harman is alleged to have taken some part in though that story is highly classified. In what was called the AIPAC Spy Scandal, key members of that powerful organization were accused of passing nuclear secrets to Israel. I spoke with several people in involved in that investigation.

Conclusion
Epstein’s murder, and this is what we allege, is only one of many intended to protect what was known in the 1990s as the AIPAC spy organization. Many of Epstein’s closest friends, many whose names are not published, but who were seen with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell during their years of holding court at New York night clubs and the vast brownstone in New York that belonged to AIPAC backer and financier Les Wexner.
Wesner later gave the New York property to Epstein, estimated value of $77 million, for $10 along with a jet airliner. We don’t exactly know why. We do know that court documents allege that young girls were held prisoner at the Ohio home of Les Wexner by his employees, but no direct allegations are made against Wexner.
Strangely, former President Barak Obama visited Wexner in 2018, allegedly to ask Wexner to stop funding Donald Trump. Stories indicate that Wexner agreed.
What we allege is this, that AIPAC, the organization that advocates for Israel in the US, backed by the MEGA group of millionaires, some of whom are inheritors of the Meyer Lansky “Murder Incorporated” crime organization, is an organ for a foreign security agency potentially hostile to the United States and deeply involved in illegal nuclear proliferation.
Ties between Richardson and Epstein raise this question which we believe cannot be ignored.

was, according to our sources, IAEA and multi-agency, tied to selling
nukes and secrets to Israel as part of the AIPAC spy ring.

is no question that if Epstein is dead, he was murdered. An attempt
at something happened two weeks ago, maybe something real but more
likely, something done to provide “cover” for whatever this was,
smuggling him to Israel or killing him.
Key
is that Epstein’s spy ring was moving nuclear weapons and nuclear
secrets, was run by Israel and always was part of AIPAC.

sources in New York from 1987 onward put Trump, Epstein and Maxwell
together daily with top AIPAC billionaires, Bronfman for sure but
others as well who all had ties to the Gambino crime family.

are talking cosmetic companies, largest, best known, liquor business,

hits when the Mossad crashed the US markets in 2007-8 with Neocon

Epstein
is a hero in Israel and they would do anything to save him.
Murdering him while he was under 24 hour guard would be a huge
blunder.
