Thomas expressed his desire to see Big Tech companies held to account and laid out a vision for how to accomplish that goal.

“I would break up Facebook, which means I would make less money probably -- but I don't care. Like that's what needs to be done. Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Oculus, WhatsApp -- they all need to be separate companies. It's too much power when they’re all one together,” he said.

Thomas said he was concerned by the lack of public awareness around Facebook’s excessive power. He specifically mentioned the influence Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg exerts over the company.

“Most people don’t understand these things and most people don’t think about them -- which is why a lot of sh*t goes down because a lot of people aren’t paying attention,” Thomas said.

“No king in the history of the world has been the ruler of two billion people, but Mark Zuckerberg is -- and he’s 36. That’s too much for a 36-year-old. You should not have power over two billion people. I just think that’s wrong,” he said.

“He [Zuckerberg] owns a controlling stake in the company. So, you can't do it the usual way that you do it in corporate, which is the board can just fire you, right? The board can’t do that to Zuck. The board can’t do that to Larry Page and Sergey Brin [Google] because they own too much of the company. They're too powerful. So, these are not companies anymore. These are countries,” he said.

Thomas said that Facebook’s algorithms are subject to human biases and stressed the importance of fixing the company’s algorithms and AI [Artificial Intelligence] sooner rather than later.

“There's always built-in [algorithmic] bias…Guess what? Human beings wrote that code,” he said.

We will be like those ants,” he said.

Thomas admitted he was part of a Facebook project that pushed to register voters and said he believes Joe Biden benefited from it:

Facebook’s algorithm flagged an 81-year-old grandmother’s comments about knitted pigs as an example of “hate speech” and threatened her with a permanent ban.

Yes, really.

After losing her husband last year, Rita Rich-Mulcahy, a retired teacher who lives in Australia, created the Facebook page to share with the world her love of knitting and raise money for The Smith Family charity, which helps disadvantaged children.

After posting a picture of her own knitted pigs, Rich-Mulcahy referred to them as “white pigs” and “high-viz pigs,” resulting in the threat to terminate her account over “hate speech.”

“It may seem a small thing to most people, but to someone who had never even had an overdue library book, being charged with using hate speech was frightening,” said Rich-Mulcahy.

Facebook issued a statement asserting that its automated system flagging the comments was a “mistake” that its AI “sometimes” makes.

The story once again illustrates how Facebook’s censorship algorithm, which gets stricter almost by the day as a result of relentless mainstream media hysteria, is completely broken.

Mark Zuckerberg told tens of thousands of Facebook employees on Thursday that they will not be required to get a coronavirus vaccine before returning to work in their offices.

The issue came up during a company all-hands meeting when a Facebook employee asked about how the forthcoming vaccine will affect their return to in-person work, according to a knowledgeable source who requested anonymity.

Zuckerberg, the source said, told his more than 50,000 employees that they will not be required to get vaccinated before heading back to the office, noting that some workers have already returned to their buildings in countries with lower rates of COVID-19 and in other limited circumstances.

The Facebook founder still insisted that the vaccine will be a positive development (sic),  and urged employees to keep social distancing in the lead-up to its distribution, the source said.

Project Veritas released a new video today provided by a Brave Facebook Insider exposing Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s contradictory position when it comes to COVID-19 vaccines.

Here are some of the highlights from the video:

• Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO in July 2020: “But I do just want to make sure that I share some caution on this [vaccine] because we just don't know the long-term side effects of basically modifying people's DNA and RNA…basically the ability to produce those antibodies and whether that causes other mutations or other risks downstream. So, there's work on both paths of vaccine development.”
• During a public live stream with Dr. Fauci in November 2020, Zuckerberg had a different take: “Just to clear up one point, my understanding is that these vaccines do not modify your DNA or RNA. So that’s just an important point to clarify.”
• Facebook announced last week that they are “expanding [their] efforts to remove false claims on Facebook and Instagram about COVID-19, COVID-19 vaccines and vaccines in general during the pandemic.”
• Facebook said it would remove claims that vaccines change people’s DNA.
• Facebook claims it wants people to “discuss, debate and share their personal experiences, opinions and views” as it pertains to the pandemic but will remove vaccine concerns from its platform that had once been expressed by their own CEO.

NYU's Stern Center for Business and Human Rights just issued a report that claims about 'anti-conservative' bias on social media platforms not only aren't true, but are a form of disinformation.

The researchers utilized a number of sources such as the democratic-leaning publication Politico and data analytics companies to find 'no concrete evidence' of conservative voices being censored on social media.

In fact, the study says, social media platforms actually AMPLIFIED the right-wingers with their algorithms to reach ‘unprecedented audiences’.

So clearly, conservatives are coming here to Telegram to get away from the fair and impartial treatment of Twitter.

Guy Rosen, Facebook's VP of Integrity, described how the platform targets speech it deems dangerous.

"We have a system that is able to freeze commenting on threads in cases where our systems are detecting that there may be a thread that has hate speech or violence... these are all things we've built over the past three-four years as part of our investments into the integrity space our efforts to protect the election," Rosen said.

In a video recorded on Jan. 21, the Facebook CEO said it was significant to see Kamala Harris assume the duties of Vice President of the United States.

“Yesterday [Jan. 20] was truly a historic day. The past few weeks have certainly been a very difficult time in our nation. But we got our new president [Biden]. We also have the first woman and the first person of color as our vice president in the history of our country,” he said.

“The swearing in of Vice President Harris really stands as a reminder that despite the challenges that we are facing as a country, we all have so much to be proud of,” he said.

Zuckerberg praised Biden and his political agenda.

“I thought President Biden’s inaugural address was very good,” Zuckerberg said.

“There has been quite a lot of disquiet expressed by many leaders around the world, from the President of Mexico to Alexei Navalny in Russia, and Chancellor Angela Merkel and others saying, ‘well this shows that private companies have got too much power...’ we agree with that,” he said. 

“Ideally, we wouldn’t be making these decisions on our own, we would be making these decisions in line with our own conformity, with democratically agreed rules and principles. At the moment, those democratically agreed rules don’t exist. We still have to make decisions in real-time.”

Facebook's VP of Civil Rights, Roy Austin, said that the company's products should reflect their views on race.

“I wonder whether or not we can use Oculus to help a white police officer to understand what it feels like to be a young black man who’s stopped and searched and arrested by the police…I want every major decision to run through a civil rights lens,” Austin said.

The videos leaked to Project Veritas by the Facebook insider illustrate the prevalence of partisan views and the lack of diversity of thought within the organization.

A GREAT PURGE IS UNDERWAY

This is a grave message to all my fellow Canadians, and our friends around the world. Last night, Facebook took down and deleted the organizing pages of several of Canada’s most prominent resistance groups — The Line, Hugs Over Masks and also Mothers Against Distancing (MAD) and a related Christmas Parade page MAD had organized. Yes, apparently Christmas is canceled and anyone hoping to organize a parade for children is an enemy of the state.

Let me please provide some perspective on what just happened, even for those who don’t agree with the messages and actions of those groups, which are part of and central to a network of such resistance groups across Canada.

We are a very long way down the road to fascism now, my friends. According to Naomi Wolf’s system, we’re at about stage nine out of 10 for full fascism. We’re undergoing a digital book burning at the moment with the deletion of hundreds of channels on YouTube and hundreds and hundreds of pages and accounts and groups on Facebook and other social media. I received a flurry of emails and messages over the past week from people shocked and outraged that Facebook groups and YouTube deleted channels in which people invested years of their lives, with thousands of members, tens of thousands even. As I follow the opposition movement closely, I can attest that the pattern is the deletion of anything that goes against official narratives. You do know this has happened before, right? Last night was the equivalent of Kristallnacht in Canada — the famous night when Hitler’s brownshirts smashed the windows of Jewish stores and engaged in public book burnings.

The scattered ragtag groups of ordinary citizens (who are extraordinary people in my opinion) have withstood public shaming and ridicule, assaults and smears from our media, and on and on. Why? Because they question the wisdom of forcing children to wear masks all day? When that can cause brain damage? Because they object to tens of thousands of businesses being bankrupted? Over a virus we now know is LESS lethal than the seasonal flu? We know now from the CDC itself that the vast majority of recorded COVID deaths were not from the virus? We know from Boris Johnston himself that the PCR tests are only seven per cent reliable?

This is a globalist takeover of the world economy via the central banks, using an induced biological crisis to install medical tyranny, and then an AI control grid, which you might have witnessed has now largely been installed during the lockdown while you were encouraged to stay at home and watch Netflix and order goods from Amazon, while the globalists lit a fire under the middle class that is now largely destroyed. Citizens in places like the Province of Ontario where I live will be among the last to resist as most people here actually work directly or indirectly for the government, as teachers, doctors, firemen, bureaucrats, nurses, bus drivers, etc. They’ll hear the sheik on Alpha Centauri when these unionized workers learn their gold-plated pensions are worthless, as they soon will be when the oligarchs short the market again and crash it for good. For now they’re joining the chorus of the corporatized CBC propaganda machine, criticizing the dissidents and even smearing a professor who doesn’t agree with the government as a Russian agent. Can you spell McCarthyism? We’re back to redbaiting now it seems, along with race baiting and every other kind of baiting.

If you’re wearing the mask, please note that it’s now an occult symbol of your submission, whether you realize it or not. A spell has been cast on you, and you’re wearing the equivalent of a swastika arm band, and people without it are being identified and the government is encouraging that such people be ostracized and even attacked. I know some of you don’t see it yet, and may never see it. Most will never admit they were fooled, especially after being sanctimonious for eight months and unfriending anyone who spoke up. If you ever wondered what you’d do if “the Nazis” ever returned, well, now you know. Most have revealed themselves to be joiners, go alongs, people who don’t speak up.

I don’t know which form of behaviour to despise the most: the people who’ve fallen for the psyops, who at least are sincere, or the people who see through it but do nothing, because they’re afraid of being ostracized. I know because I lead a group and some people I’ve invited have written me privately to say they’re too afraid to go public. They can’t “risk their jobs” by being possibly seen in a news report about the public demonstrations and rallies. Well, that attitude helped Hitler and Stalin and Mussolini and Franco greatly, I can tell you. Most Germans went along with what they got swept up in not because they were passionate Nazis but because they were living through a state terror campaign, and after a decade of that were led into a fatal and genocidal war. I’m a student of such history and see all the elements lining up. And you know what’s weird? It’s the SAME forces behind it as 100 years ago: the technocrats and eugenicists who sought to create a Utopia based on creating a master race. Look at Elon Musk and his dreams of going to Mars and attaching our brains to computers. Look at the Transhumaist agenda of people like the WEF’s Klaus Schwab, an unreformed product himself of Nazi Germany.

Last night we not only fell down another step on democracy’s stairway, but fell down a whole flight of stairs. And almost no one in Canada noticed or will ever know, because the corporate media won’t tell them, and they won’t find their way to this post. The Stalinist purges are underway, folks. And things are only getting started. Ontario has announced ID2020 and last weekend the Global Reset of financial markets got underway in a vast and dangerous experiment to shift to a new system that may or may not prolong the casino economy of international credit a little longer. The bankers are picking up pennies in front of a steamroller at the moment, and when they get flattened, we’ll move from a fiat monetary system to a digital currency and the full AI control grid. China is one of the most censorious societies on Earth. So what better place for ­Facebook to recruit social media censors?

There are at least half a dozen “Chinese nationals who are working on censorship,” a former Facebook insider told me last week. “So at some point, they [Facebook bosses] thought, ‘Hey, we’re going to get them H-1B visas so they can do this work.’ ”

The insider shared an internal directory of the team that does much of this work. It’s called Hate-Speech Engineering (George Orwell, call your office), and most of its members are based at Facebook’s offices in Seattle. Many have Ph.D.s, and their work is extremely complex, involving machine learning — teaching “computers how to learn and act without being explicitly programmed,” as the techy website DeepAI.org puts it.

When it comes to censorship on social media, that means “teaching” the Facebook code so certain content ends up at the top of your newsfeed, a feat that earns the firm’s software wizards discretionary bonuses, per the ex-insider. It also means making sure other content “shows up dead-last.”

Like, say, a New York Post report on the Biden dynasty’s dealings with Chinese companies.

To illustrate the mechanics, the insider took me as his typical Facebook user: “They take what Sohrab sees, and then they throw the newsfeed list into a machine-learning algorithm and neural networks that determine the ranking of the items.”

Facebook engineers test hundreds of different iterations of the rankings to shape an optimal outcome — and root out what bosses call “borderline content.”

It all makes for perhaps the most chillingly sophisticated censorship mechanism in human history. “What they don’t do is ban a specific pro-Trump hashtag,” says the ex-insider. Instead, “content that is a little too conservative, they will down-rank. You can’t tell it’s censored.”

I won’t share the names of the Facebook employees in question. The point isn’t to spotlight individuals, but to show how foreign nationals from a state that still bans Facebook have their hands on the levers of social media censorship here in America.

The Hate-Speech Engineering team’s staff includes a research scientist based at the Seattle office who earned his master’s degree in computer engineering from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Another member of the team, a software engineer for machine learning based in Seattle, earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science from Jilin University in northeast China. Still another, an engineering manager, earned his bachelor’s in computer science at Nanjing University in eastern China.

Another software engineer previously worked for the Communist-backed conglomerate Huawei, as well as the Beijing National Railway & Design Institute of Signal and Communication. I reached out to all six employees; two replied to confirm that they are Chinese nationals but refused to comment further; the rest didn’t reply.

Plenty of Big Tech firms, of course, recruit their foreign specialists from China, India and elsewhere, and many of these workers hope to resettle in the United States permanently and share the American Dream.

But some may not, and the trouble is that the society they might return to ­already deploys one of the most comprehensive and fine-tuned intellectual control mechanisms on its own population. What’s to stop Facebook’s Chinese engineers from delivering their Facebook expertise to Xi Jinping? Globalists thought that engaging with China would make that country more open; I fear it’s making us more restrictive.

A Facebook spokesperson denied that these employees influence broader policies. “We are a stronger company because our employees come from all over the world. Our standards and policies are public, including about our third-party fact-checking program, and designed to apply equally to content across the political spectrum. With over 35,000 people working on safety and security issues at Facebook, the insinuation that these employees have an outsized influence on our broader policies or technology is absurd.”

Yet, as Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) put it in an email to me, these revelations are yet “another indication that Big Tech is no longer deserving” of statutory protections that render it immune to a publisher’s liabilities. Big Tech critic Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), meanwhile, said “this is all the more reason for the Senate to demand that Mark Zuckerberg — under oath and before the election — give an account of what Facebook has been up to.”

A new Facebook policy will see all profiles linked to the QAnon conspiracy community wiped from the platform whether or not they promote violence, the company’s latest crackdown on what it claims is a dangerous movement.

Facebook announced the new measures on Tuesday, explaining that the decision updates a policy imposed in August targeting QAnon accounts “containing discussions of potential violence,” broadening the ban to any profiles affiliated with the movement. The policy will also apply to Instagram.

“Starting today, we will remove any Facebook Pages, Groups and Instagram accounts representing QAnon, even if they contain no violent content,” the company said, arguing that the group is tied to other types of “real world harm.”

While we’ve removed QAnon content that celebrates and supports violence, we’ve seen other QAnon content tied to different forms of real world harm, including recent claims that the west coast wildfires were started by certain groups, which diverted attention of local officials from fighting the fires.

The initial ban on accounts promoting violence saw over 1,500 QAnon pages and groups scrubbed from the platform, as well as more than 6,500 linked to other “militarized social movements,” including Antifa and various militia groups. However, the new sweeping ban does not appear to apply to the other movements, singling out the pro-Trump conspiracy community by name.

The move has been blasted as another clamp-down on free expression online, with even some self-avowed opponents of QAnon deeming it “chilling for free speech.”

Others questioned why the new ban targeted QAnon alone, even as a number of militant left-wing groups openly “discuss which city they are going to burn down next.”

Some countered the free speech proponents, however, calling to deplatform “dangerous disinformation” and “QAnon cult followers,” among them Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton (D-Virginia) and California state Senator Scott Wiener. Others said the decision should have been made long ago.

Facebook is not the only platform to attempt to purge its Q-friendly users, as Twitter announced its own massive ban of up to 150,000 QAnon-related accounts, blacklisting the group in its recommendations and Trends tabs while barring any associated web links. Like Facebook, Twitter alleged the group’s behavior had “the potential to lead to offline harm,” also citing “coordinated harmful activity” and “platform manipulation.”

The QAnon movement gained prominence after the election of Donald Trump to the presidency in 2016. While the group embraces a range of theories, some more outlandish than others, many center on the notion that a secretive cabal of Satan worshippers and child sex traffickers has infiltrated world governments, and that the president is working to bring them down.
