Methane
high 09 27 2016, 2629 ppb.
Keep in mind that 1250 ppb is the energy balance for methane. Anything over this and the atmosphere absorbs more heat than it disapates. The atmosphere is heating up like a plugged radiator on a car. It cannot disapate heat fast enough. How far can a car be driven with the heat gague going to high?
And, it seems that atmospheric oxidation is not as big a factor in the global methane cycle as some assumed.
ReplyDeleteA classic chock full of powerful data in a simple Edwin Tufte visual.
ReplyDeleteThe entire planet is cloaked in methane levels ABOVE the KNOWN energy balance.
The 1250 energy balance level of YELLOW is non-existant.
BUT, the color code is very deceptive because the line of coloration does NOT show the startling dramatic rise to close to 2629 ppb.
WHY ARE THE CHART POINTS 2000 & 2500 - MISSING?
