#Occupy and Kiev - contrasting actions

I ask you to contrast these two videos.

In the first example, at Occupation Oakland the demonsrations were largely peaceful and the police responded with great violence. We even had a policeman spraying seated demonstrators with tear gas.

This was 'restoring order'

The second is a brutal video of demonstrators persuing and beating policemen in Kiev.

This is portrayed as the heroic struggle of an oppostion against a dictatorial regime that was elected in an election that was at the time deemed 'free and fair' and the EU was in negotiations with until recently

I ask you what government in the world, whether 'democratic' or not would tolerate this degree of break-down of public order?

Which one is manifesting the actions of an un-democratic, police state?
