ABC News Anchor Gets Caught In ‘Hot Mic’ Moment

PROJECT VERITAS TAKES ON JEFFREY EPSTEIN CASE
ABC News Anchor Gets Caught In ‘Hot Mic’ Moment Saying Network Sat On Story For Three Years.

5 November, 2019

Last month, TruNews told you about the expose series by James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas that shined a light on the rampant political bias within CNN.

Now, the investigative journalism organization has another mainstream media whistleblower—this time within ABC News. Today, Project Veritas released a video of “Good Morning America” breaking news anchor Amy Robach “venting” about a scoop she had on Jeffrey Epstein—three years ago.

Caught on a hot mic while discussing the latest developments in the Epstein story back in August, she said:

I’ve had the story for three years. I’ve had this interview with Virginia Roberts—we would not put it on the air. First of all, I was told, ‘Who’s Jeffrey Epstein? No one knows who that is. This is a stupid story.’ The [Buckingham] Palace found out that we had her whole allegations about Prince Andrew and threatened us a million different ways.

We were so afraid we won’t be able to interview Kate and Will that we—that also quashed the story. And then Alan Dershowitz was also implicated in—‘cause of the planes. She told me everything. She had pictures, she had everything. She was in hiding for 12 years. We convinced her to come out. We convinced her to talk to us. It was unbelievable what we had—Clinton, we had everything.

I tried for three years to get it on to no avail. And now it’s all coming out and it’s like these new revelations and I freaking had all of it. I’m so [expletive] right now. Like everyday I get more and more [expletive] ‘cause I’m just like, ‘Oh my God.’ We—it was what—what we had was unreal. Other women backing it up … Brad Edwards, the attorney, three years ago saying, like, we, ‘There will come a day when we will realize Jeffrey Epstein was the most prolific pedophile this country has ever known.’

I had it all three years ago.”

Another “GMA” employee is heard in the background saying that ABC would “make access” for many of the same high-profile people implicated in the Epstein pedophile scandal. Robach then added that’s when she got concerned about why she couldn’t get her interview with Roberts, who now goes by her married last name of Giuffre, on the air.

O’Keefe interjects:

We wonder if the story was killed to protect the rich and powerful. It seems few were worried about protecting the women who may hae been Jeffrey Epstein’s victims. Remember, Epstein was still a free man three years ago—and just to be clear, the interview has still not aired. What is ABC News for or who are they still protecting?”

Robach also made it clear she had no doubt what happened when Epstein’s purported suicide was announced in the same mainstream media she works for:

So do I think he was killed? A hundred percent, yes, I do. Because do you want it? He made his whole living blackmailing people.

Yep. There were a lot of men in those planes. A lot of men who visited that island. A lot of powerful men who came into that apartment.

When I heard he was found dead in his jail cell, I was like—I knew immediately. And they made it seem as though he made that ‘suicide attempt’ two weeks earlier. But his lawyers claim he was roughed up by his cellmate around the neck. That was all, like, to plant the seed.”

Robach went on to discuss the involvement of Ghislaine Maxwell in the entire scandal:

I had all sorts of stuff on her, too. I love it. I really—I’m, like, it’s so funny to hear everyone say her name. Excellent. Oh, my God, like, I had all that. And everyone’s like, ‘Who’s that? Who cares?’ I kept getting that. Who cares? Umm, she knows everything.

She knows. She knows she should—she should be careful. Well, she was his, like, she went out and recruited all of these girls. She should watch her back, ‘cause if she goes—I mean, I’d have, like, security guards all around me.”

While this might be shocking for most of Project Veritas’ audience, it shouldn’t be news to regular TruNews viewers and listeners. Rick Wiles and the TruNews team has devoted several hours of panel discussions on this topic.

And, as you might expect, shortly after the Project Veritas video was released, ABC News released two statements—one from upper management, then one from Robach—in an attempt to throw cold water on the hot mic recording. The company statement read:

At the time, not all of our reporting met our standards to air, but we have never stopped investigating the story. Ever since we’ve had a team on this investigation and substantial resources dedicated to it. That work has led to a two-hour documentary and 6-part podcast that will air in the new year.”

That doesn’t seem to connect with what Roback said in the leaked video. However, ABC News also issued a statement attributed to her that tells an entirely new story:

As a journalist, as the Epstein story continued to unfold last summer, I was caught in a private moment of frustration. I was upset that an important interview I had conducted with Virginia Roberts didn’t air because we could not obtain sufficient corroborating evidence to meet ABC’s editorial standards about her allegations. My comments about Prince Andrew and her allegation that she had seen Bill Clinton on Epstein’s private island were in reference to what Virginia Roberts said in that interview in 2015. I was referencing her allegations—not what ABC News had verified through our reporting. The interview itself, while I was disappointed it didn’t air, didn’t meet our standards. In the years since no one ever told me or the team to stop reporting on Jeffrey Epstein, and we have continued to aggressively pursue this important story.”

O’Keefe says his whistleblower doesn’t know who made the decision to “spike” the Epstein story. However, he also responded to the ABC News statements saying that the insider’s video speaks for itself. He added the whistleblower is still working for ABC News, and that more would be coming soon.

This is discussed here....
