Clouds in Lower Hutt

Extraordinary cloud 

formations at sunset

I went out for a brief walk around the block and caught these extraordinary clouds.

My partner, Pam came back a little later and described a big red orb with blue sky (which she described as the “eye of Sauron”) and a long, smooth cloud with a darky pinky-reddy light.

As it was sunset we didn’t get this on camera.

We’ve been seeing this red sky for about a month and have been wondering if this has anything to do with smoke from the fires.
