A report on the Arctic and global climate - 13 July, 2019

Arctic Sea Ice report – 13
July, 2019

RAIN AT THE NORTH POLE

This shows that it has been raining at the North Pole

This response amused me. It demonstrates the epic levels of ignorance out there...

This is from professional 'sceptic', Vinny Eastwood, who likes to insert little comments to cast doubt on the science.

Does he REALLY think this is a normal summer at the North Pole??

A HOLE IN THE ICE?

Meanwhile, Climate Reanalyser seems to show a hole in the ice aproximately where it has been raining.

Unfortunately, this cannot be checked on NASA Worldview because of heavy cloud cover (and rain!).

IT IS WARM IN THE ARCTIC

I have been trying to get a sense of how warm both the air and the water is in the Arctic Basin.

These representations give an excellent clue.

This is the sea temperature anomaly on the edge where the ice has melted.

The red corresponds to a 4-6 degrees Celsius anomaly, which is huge.

Next we have the air temperature anomalies for the Arctic. The colour code corresponds to temperatures above freezing, even at the North Pole

METHANE EMISSIONS

And this is the latest methane report.

These are high readings (readings of 1900 ppb and and above are represented in green which has given a completely false reading since they changed the colour code.

SEA ICE CONCENTRATION?

There is no data for sea ice concentration,

Why, I ask, is this?

SEA ICE THICKNESS

This is what I get every time I try to open the invaluable US Navy NRISSC site. On some browsers I cannot even open the site - on others I can find a way in.

It appears to me that this is fake and they do not want the "hoy-polloy" to access this invaluable data.

This is a .GIF of sea ice thickness for the last 30 days ago

And the latest data -

Compare this with the data for the same time in 2014. Notice all the old ice that has disappeared.

This is a general view of the Arctic Basin showing the wildfires in red.

HIGH LEVELS OF WATER IN THE ATMOSPHERE

This shows all the areas of the globe where it is raining.Note the belt of rain around the whole globe at the equator.

And global temperature anomalies

Just notice conditions in Antarctica

  1. Thank you, Robin. "No Data" may become the response from most of our data sources as we move into the collapse. We only have one satellite showing Methane releases and now the Navy is controlling who sees what. One day at a time is all we have. Take care of yourself and those you love. God Bless you!

  2. For the Navy .mil ice thickness site I had thought that the Navy-Offense (definitely not Defense) rolled their own SSL certificate and it was a false positive like many Linux sites get tarred with.

However on the Arctic Sea Ice Forum (ASIF) a long term quality memeber posted that their SSL cert (https://www7320.nrlssc.navy.mill) points internally onto the .mil site.

Either way, you just have to jump through the hoops, If and how well they are adapting their code to changing conditions in the Arctic is another breed of a dog and pony show.
