Strong M6.1 Quake Strikes Atlantic Ocean -Tsunami Buoy OFFLINE

HalTurner,
15 February, 2019

A strong Magnitude 6.1 earthqauke has struck in the Atlantic Ocean, well off the US Coast, at a shallow depth of only 10.1km.  But a Tsunami Buoy located west of it, is OFFLINE and unable to warn the US if a Tsunami has been created!

The Buoy has been broken for almost THREE YEARS.

According the the National Data Buoy Center, a TSUNAMI WARNING BUOY is located near the location of this earthquake (because they KNEW the Atlantic Ridge posed a Danger to the US Coast) but the buoy is OUT OF SERVICE.

The National Data Buoy Center web site shows the following info for this Buoy:
Owned and maintained by National Data Buoy Center
2.6-meter discus buoy
DART II payload
37.592 N 50.030 W (37°35'30" N 50°1'48" W)

Site elevation: sea level
Water depth: 5494 m
As of 13:00Z, 04/22/2016, the buoy located at station 44401 has ceased transmitting. Data will be restored during our next service visit to this location.
That means this warning Buoy has been out of service for almost THREE FULL YEARS.
The next closest Warning Buoy is about 200 miles off the US Coast, at about the same latitude as the offline buoy.  Given that Tsunamis travel at about 500 MPH, it would provide the people of New York City only about twenty minutes warning to get to higher ground

How do you evacuate twenty million people in 20 minutes????
