Ukraine Threatens To Attack Russia, Analyst Says Not Possible With “Old Rusty Bathtubs”

On Friday, Ukrainian Deputy Yuri Bereza said that Ukraine is capable of destroying “any fleet” in the Sea of ​​Azov, including the Russian. Political scientist Aleksandr Asafov commented on the provocative statement.

In an interview with the RT channel, the analyst recalled that the state of Ukrainian ships is not so good that is said to threaten the Russian fleet.

“A little more than 60 support ships, as they are called in Ukraine, or, if we take into account the reality, old rusty bathtubs, are not capable of threatening the Russian fleet in any way,” the political scientist in an interview with the channel.

According to Bereza, this statement indicates that the Azov Sea theme continues to be painful for the Ukrainian authorities, who in this way try to divert public attention from the provocations of Ukraine at sea. In particular, the Ukrainian coastguard this year arrested the Russian vessel Nord and has been detaining the tanker Mekhanik Pogodin with its crew on board since 12 August.

Earlier, Ukrainian Deputy Yuri Bereza stated that Kiev has “all the forces and means” needed to defeat the fleet of any country, including Russia, in the Sea of ​​Azov in 5-10 minutes using Soviet weapons.

This is not the first time that the Ukrainian authorities express their intention to compete with Russia at sea.

But in August, the country’s navy command admitted being unable to achieve military parity with Russia in the Azov and Black seas, as envisaged in the development strategy of the Ukrainian Navy.

However, according to the command, Kiev does not need such parity to compete with Moscow, but rather a small and efficient fleet, citing as examples those of Norway, Sweden or Israel.

However, no element of the Ukrainian military are in a capable position to challenge Russia, whether it be by sea, land or air.
