Syrian air defense thwarted ‘Israeli missile attack’ near Damascus airport – state agency

Syrian Army air defenses have intercepted several “Israeli missiles” over Damascus International Airport, state news agency SANA reported, citing a military source.

“Our air defense systems thwarted an Israeli missile aggression,” the source said. A SANA reporter meanwhile reported sounds of explosions in the vicinity of the airport.

An Israeli military spokeswoman declined to comment on the reported incident, when approached by Reuters, saying “we don't comment on foreign reports.”

 

The agency released a short video showing what it says is an anti-aircraft missile in flight over Damascus. Another video, released by the Syrian news website Muraselon, supposedly shows an anti-aircraft missile being launched and then exploding mid-air. Due to the low quality of the footage it remains unclear if that projectile scored a hit.

 

Israel has repeatedly bombed locations in Syria, including military installations around Damascus. Israeli military rarely comments on attacks against the neighbor, yet it had previously acknowledged targeting weapon and munition storage facilities and command centers. Tel Aviv has asserted that its strikes are aimed to counter the alleged Iranian military buildup in Syria, while Damascus has condemned such attacks as aggression against the country.

PUTIN WARNS ISRAEL & TURKEY

 

Russian President Vladimir Putin has told Israel not to approach his aircraft over Syrian areas and reminded the Israelis that Russian MiG 35 aircraft are capable of sinking American naval vessels because they carry six bombs with explosives weighing 2 tons each.

Putin is not satisfied with Turkey’s role in the war in Syria, and has ordered the destruction of Turkish military aircraft by approaching the Syrian-Turkish border.

The British have now also confirmed that Vladimir Putin’s administration sent eight submarines toward Syria.

Putin has instructed the Syrian army to "tackle every hostile target in Syria, by every means."

Putin has also told all parties "Any attempt to attack the Syrian army will immediately result in intervention of Russian Forces. "

 

MORE -- The Russian Air Force received orders to support and intervene on the side of the Syrian Air Force and respond to any hostile target.

Russian Special Forces "Speznaz" has been ordered to take out al- Qaeda/White Helmets operatives who have been preparing a phony "gassing the children" psyop / social media / fake news stunt, designed to give an excuse for FUKUS  (France/UK/US) air cover for the terrorists.

It is confirmed now that Israeli warplanes attacked a Syrian S-200 air defense base.

Syria is now saying that close to Damascus International Airport which was just targeted by supposed Israeli missile strikes is the location where the Damascus International Fair is being held and attended by tens of thousands of visitors.
