There is no way to put this in the context of "normal or natural".

We must reduce methane in the atmosphere. It literally is a matter of life and death. We must attack where it is coming from and we must increase hydroxyls that can remove methane from the atmosphere. The sources of methane and the importance of biochar have been well covered. Here is a review on how hydroxyls can remove methane from the atmosphere. The importance of hydroxyls may not have been fully appreciated until now. Destroying methane has priority over destroying carbon dioxide.
