Sea ice in Bering Strait only 22 % of normal for April

Sea ice extent in the Bering Sea from the @NSIDC database was only 22% of normal for April 18. The extent of 142000 km² is normal for June 2nd(!) In the past 40 years, the previous earliest date to be so low was May 10th (2017). #Arctic #akwx @Climatologist49 @ZLabe @lisashefguy
