Intelligence agencies of Great Britain have accused the Minister of Defense, Gavin Williamson, of divulging secret data. Earlier, he told The Daily Telegraph that Russia intends to attack the British energy infrastructure system, which could cause the deaths of "thousands and thousands of people." The headline seemed to be competing for most outrageous Russophobic accusation of the year to date. 

The defense department of Great Britain rejected the accusations. "The Minister of Defense did not disclose any secret data in the course of his communication with the press," said the statement of the representative of the Ministry of Defense. 

Commenting on Williamson's statement, Igor Konashenkov, the spokesman for Russia's Defense Ministry, said  that the British minister "does not seem to understand where the boundaries of the reasonable are"  and is "passionate for the cause, in the name of banknotes."

The former commander of the US Army in Europe, Lieutenant-General Ben Hodges, acknowledged that the Russian tactics of fighting in the east of Ukraine demonstrate the complex integration of unmanned aerial vehicles, electronic, mortar and artillery means of warfare, which creates serious problems for Ukrainian troops.

As radio Liberty reports, this was announced by Hodges in Washington during a speech at the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, known as the Helsinki Commission.

"The Russian ability to engage in electronic warfare is something that we have never had to worry about in Afghanistan and Iraq. You can not talk on the radio or some unprotected device, because it will be muffled or intercepted, or worse, you will be found, and then destroyed," said Hodges.

According to him, the Russian-backed commanders utilise these tactics of using drones and artillery in the Donbass, which allows them to eradicate, in particular, Ukrainian mortar and artillery formations.

In these circumstances, the American general believes that the supply of Javelin anti-tank complexes to Kiev is justified, calling it an important signal to convince the Russians to agree on ending the conflict. At the same time, the general has a very clear idea of ​​exactly how the conflict should stop.

"There must be a diplomatic solution. Russia must at some point agree to stop supporting separatists or withdraw from there to allow Ukraine to regain control of its border with Russia," said Hodges. Will the US then, stop supporting Kiev?
