McConnell To Dem Senator: No One Is Allowed To Read The Tax Cut Bill Until After It Passes

1 December, 2017

Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell told Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden (Oregon) that he would have time to read the bill after it passes the Senate. McConnell admission that no one is allowed to to read the bill before it passes came after Wyden voiced his concerns that Senators will be voting on a massive tax bill that will alter the U.S. economy for decades without seen it.
McConnell tells Wyden there'll by "plenty of time" for him to look at the Senate tax cut bill when it goes to House-Senate conference committee to work out difference with House version.

This is how far Republicans have gone to undermine democracy. It is not surprising that same man who blocked a Supreme Court nominee is passing a secret tax cut for the wealthy.

Mitch McConnell and his Republican allies in Congress are violating the legislative process undermining the Constitution, a crime against democracy.

The elected representatives of the people can’t represent the interests of their constituents if they aren’t allowed to read legislation before voting on it. Citizens can’t read the bill for themselves because it hasn’t been publicly released.

Yet, Senate Republicans are ramming the highly unpopular bill through over the objection of the majority of Americans.

It seems they are hell bent to get all that they can for their wealthy campaign contributors before the American electorate vote them out of office.

Bernie Sanders Warns That Republicans Are Coming To Kill Social Security And Medicare After The Tax Bill

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is warning that after Republicans cut taxes for the wealthiest Americans, their next move is going to be to attack Social Security and Medicare.

Sanders tweeted:
FACT: Under the Republican plan, a single mother making minimum wage with two kids would get only a $75 tax credit. Meanwhile, a family making $500k with two kids would get a $4,000 tax credit.

It is without doubt that as soon as this tax legislation is passed, Republicans will rediscover their religion about the deficit and say we need “entitlement reform.”
What “entitlement reform” actually means is massive cuts to Social Security at a time when millions of older workers have nothing in the bank for their retirement.
