Terrorists Fleeing as Syrian Army advances in Deir Ez Zour and the Desert

Units of the Syrian Army regained control of several strategic positions west of Manukh and north of the recently liberated town of Sukhneh, located east of Palmyra, after killing a large number of ISIS terrorists and destroying their equipment during operations on Saturday.

In the eastern province of Deir Ez Zour, Syrian Army destroyed several new ISIS targets, forcing even more terrorists to flee.

According to the field reports, army units engaged in clashes with ISIS and the affiliated terrorist groups in the neighborhoods of Al Howeiqa and Al Rashidiyeh of Deir Ez Zour city, and in the surrounding areas of Deir Ez Zour Airport.

Scores of the terrorists were left dead or injured in the clashes, and their arms and ammunition destroyed.

In addition, the Syrian Air Force carried out series of intense strikes, targeting ISIS positions in the surrounding areas of Al Panorama, and at the southwestern outskirts of Deir Ez Zour city, destroying a weapons depot and one of the main ISIS command centers.

Later, Syrian Air Force and artillery units inflicted heavy losses upon ISIS terrorists after raiding their positions and supply routes in Al Hamidiyeh, Al Howeiqa and Al Rashidiyeh neighbourhoods of Deir Ez Zour city, and in the villages of Howeijet Saqer, Al Tibni, Al Shmaitiyeh, Ayyash, Al Kharita and Al Bhailiyeh.

Meanwhile, local sources said that an entire gathering of terrorists belonging to a newly formed ISIS-affiliated terrorist group escaped from the village of Al Bu Omar, among them two of their leaders, known as Samir Dahham and Abdel Hamid Al Dairi.
