Peter Dunne quits politics

BREAKING: Peter Dunne quits politics – good riddance to the ‘willing seller’ of our civil rights
When NZ needed a check and balance to mass surveillance laws, Peter Dunne rolled over and sold us out. When he had the opportunity to show Helen Kelly compassion, he refused.

Good riddance Peter Dunne.

Shock announcement, Peter Dunne has quit politics…

Peter Dunne quits politics

United Future leader Peter Dunne is quitting politics, in a shock announcement made today.

Dunne cited recent polling for his decision to quit politic after more than three decades.

The current political environment is extremely volatile and unpredictable,” he said in a statement.

However, I have concluded, based on recent polling, and other soundings I have been taking over the last few weeks, that, the volatility and uncertainty notwithstanding, there is now a mood amongst Ōhāriu voters for a change of MP, which is unlikely to alter.”

politically this is damaging to National who lose one possible coalition partner if Greg O’Connor can maximise on this for Labour.
I say good riddance to bad rubbish.
This was the man who sold his vote to John Key to pass controversial spying legislation even though his own emails had been caught by mass surveillance when his correspondence with Andrea Vance was investigated.
At the time Dunne described the deal of selling his vote to Key to pass mass surveillance powers as a ‘willing buyer, willing seller’.
Beyond that, he voted down the Feed the Kids Bill and his spiteful decision to make Helen Kelly a criminal when she died by refusing to sign off on her cannabis medicine was surely the low point in the political life of a bureaucrat who sold out and mutilated any meaningful legacy.
When NZ needed a check and balance to mass surveillance laws, Peter Dunne rolled over and sold us out. When he had the opportunity to show Helen Kelly compassion, he refused.
Good riddance Peter Dunne.
