North Carolina Republican Party Headquarters Reportedly Firebombed

In
an act one official has called "political terrorism," the
offices of the Republican Party in Orange County, North Carolina have
come under attack, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Police
say the words "Nazi Republicans get out of town, or else!"
were also spray-painted on a nearby building.
“The office itself is
a total loss,” Dallas Woodhouse, executive director of state GOP,
told the Charlotte Observer.
“The only thing important to us is
that nobody was killed, and they very well could have been."
The
incident, which took place when flammable liquid was thrown through
the front window of the office, is under investigation.
In a
statement, Hillsborough Mayor Tom Stevens called the act "highly
disturbing."
"[This] act goes far beyond vandalizing
property; it willfully threatens our community’s safety via fire,
and its hateful message undermines decency, respect and integrity in
civic participation," Stevens said.
