September, 2016
Aerial
photographs show the sheer devastation of the 6.2-magnitude
earthquakethe
rocked central Italy just over a week ago.
Aftershocks
continue to rattle the quake-devastated area as the death toll nears
300.
Areas
hardest hit by the quake were the tiny towns of Amatrice and Accumoli
near Rieti, 100 kilometres northeast of Rome, and Pescara del Tronto,
25 kilometres further east.
Photos
show levelled buildings, crumbling landscapes as some 4,000 residents
are homeless as a result of the destruction.
