Arctic Ice 06 15 2016.

The first view is of the Hall Basin in the lower left and the Lincoln Sea on the North shore of Greenland. The ice is breaking up in the Hall Basin and detaching from the land. 

The second view is of the Arctic Ocean above the Lincoln Sea, with the Greenland Sea on the North East Tip of Greenland. The ice is cracking and detaching from the shoreline of Greenland. As this happens, the ice sheet loses it's anchor. The Arctic ice becomes a free floating ice sheet with less resistance to flowing out of the Arctic Ocean.
