As reiterated by Skymet Weather, heatwave conditions have made a comeback over Northwest and Central parts of the country. Several parts of Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pardesh, Maharashtra, Telangana and Gujarat are witnessing temperatures in mid 40s.

At 45.7°C, Sriganganagar in Rajasthan was the hottest city in the country on Friday. This was followed by Phalodi at 45.5°C, Nagpur 45.1°C, Ramagundam 45.2 and Delhi 44.5°C.

After good spell of pre-Monsoon showers, all the weather systems have clear away the region. In wake of this, hot and dry northwesterly winds have been blowing over these parts of the country. This has led to steep increase in the maximum temperatures.

No respite is likely from the scorching heat for next few days and mercury will continue to soar, though marginally.

Heatwave has remained far away from almost all parts of the country so far owing to the good Pre-Monsoon showers lashing several areas. However, most areas of Rajasthan and Gujaratremained dry resulting in an increase in temperatures over isolated pockets.

Rajasthan and Gujarat continue to witness sky high maximums. Most areas in the two states have been observing maximums above the normal levels. During the next few days, these regions are likely to remain dry resulting in further increase in the maximums.

Now, parts of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and isolated pockets in Telangana have also witnessed a marginal rise in temperatures. So much so that maximums have been settling above the 40-degree mark, close to 45 degrees over a few areas of the states. While heatwave conditions will remain confined over Rajasthan, the above mentioned areas are likely to witness heatwave like conditions during the next 24 hours.

However, even now, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and parts of Karnataka will continue to witness Pre-Monsoon showers which will result in comfortable weather conditions over the region. Also, temperatures in East India will also continue to settle close to the normal levels due to cool winds blowing from the Bay of Bengal.

Good Pre-Monsoon showers continue to lash the Indian region giving good rains over several parts of the country. However, Gujarat and Rajasthan have been observing hot weather conditions with temperatures being recorded above 40 degrees at several places.

East India has been witnessing scattered Pre-Monsoon rains which have kept the temperatures under check. However, Odisha has witnessed some rise in maximums with Bhabanipatna recording its maximum as 42.5 degree Celsius which is just a notch above the normal levels.

North India has been witnessing maximums close to the normal levels. No heatwave conditions are being observed over the region. In fact, some weather activity has been keeping the sky high temperatures far away from the region. The hills of North India will continue to remain cool with more rains likely over the region.

Also, parts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka have been witnessing warm weather conditions with no heatwave being observed over the region. Good Pre-Monsoon showers in Kerala have also resulted in a drop in temperatures.

During the next few days, heatwave conditions will remain abated from most parts of India. However, temperatures in Rajasthan and Gujarat are likely to soar even further.

Heat wave warning again for Telangana

Hyderabad: After a respite of a few days due to unseasonal rains, mercury has started rising again in Telangana and the met office has issued a heat wave warning.

Several places in the state on Saturday recorded temperatures two to four degrees above average for the season.

Ramagundam was the hottest place in the state with mercury soaring to 45.8 degrees Celsius. Adilabad too sizzled at 45.3 degrees.

Nizamabad recorded 44.4 degrees while it was 43.1 in Hanamkonda. State capital Hyderabad too was hot at 41.6 degrees.
