Pollution from fracking

Volatile organic compounds are released with methane from over 1 million oil and gas wells in the US alone, no surprises that we are living on the edge of a dying biosphere. The big surprise is that one organism has been able to kill it single handedly.

Hold Your Breath: fracking and clean air don't mix

IS IT CLEAN? This video examines the impact of oil and gas development on the health of people living it. Using a FLIR (infrared) camera designed to detect normally invisible, sometimes toxic volatile organic compounds (VOCs), mother and activist and FLIR-certified-technician Sharon Wilson went on a road trip to document pollution at oil and gas operations -- and its human cost.

EPA might require that oil and gas companies clean up their pollution. They're deciding now. Go to protectourair.org to urge them to act.

From the ABC’s Four Corners
Gas Leak! by Four Corners

Apr 1, 2013

They tell us coal seam gas is a cleaner greener fuel which will help reduce carbon emissions, but that is a lie. The methane which leaks from CSG drilling (coal seem gas drilling) operations far outweighs any potential saving in CO2, and the hydrogen sulphide and radon released poison us all.

This documentary shows how the two biggest CSG projects in Australia's history were rail-roaded past the environmental impact assessment process without any consideration of how they will deplete Australia's limited ground water reserves or any determination of the amounts of gas released. These projects are expected to lower water tables by between 100 and 700 metres
