Japan, France to pair on scrapping Fukushima plant

Japan and France agreed during a summit Tuesday to cooperate on decommissioning the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, a senior Japanese official said, Kyodo News reported.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and French President Francois Hollande also agreed on the need for a "strong" U.N. Security Council resolution to ensure Syria abandons its chemical weapons stockpiles.
