Dotcom allowed to view extradition evidence

Kim Dotcom has won a court victory allowing him to see the evidence in his extradition case.

The United States wants to extradite Mr Dotcom and his fellow accused to face charges of internet priracy, money laundering, racketeering and wire fraud.

On Tuesday, Auckland District Court relaxed the bail conditions for the Megaupload founder, allowing him to return home.

Judge David Harvey also granted discovery of some of the evidence against him.

Mr Dotcom's lawyers had sought disclosure of all documents relating to all charges.

Judge Harvey said the documents to be revealed should apply only to the proceedings in New Zealand.

Megaupload was indicted in a federal court in Alexandria, Virginia, on 19 January and the site was shut down. Mr Dotcom and his three co-accused were arrested in Auckland the following day.

Formal papers requesting their extradition were lodged in early March
