US base on Australian Cocos Islands

US to protect Australia from New Guinea?

The US is expanding it's military presence across the planet. A new base
is due to be set in the territory of Australia. And while the specifics of it remain secret, the Washington Post finds the location to be "ideal for manned surveillance as well as unmanned drones."
