BoJo set to BAN indoor gatherings

Five new deaths were reported in England today and five in Wales. Scotland recorded no new deaths while Northern Ireland no longer updates its figures on the weekend. The death toll is usually much lower on Sunday's and Monday's, due to a delay in reporting over the weekend. It comes as the Government reviews whether to ban indoor get-togethers and call an end to the "bubble" system.

A major incident was announced today after senior police, local authorities and other agencies met this weekend to discuss the current regional outbreak. It is feared the army could be drafted in to support police in Manchester if necessary. Huge spikes of coronavirus have been seen in Manchester, Tameside and Oldham.

Several regions around the UK have gone back into lockdown this weekend, as the Government announced new measures for West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and East Lancashire. There, people have to refrain from gathering indoors with others, as Matt Hancock warned residents did not heed social distance warnings. But very little will change with the latest regional measures, as most shops and restaurants can remain open.

Masks are muzzles’: Protesters rally outside BBC HQ & march to Downing Street after UK govt widens mask-wearing orders

Activists took to the streets of London a day after the UK cabinet expanded its guidelines for mandatory face coverings. The demonstration comes amid growing skepticism worldwide over the efficacy of such policies.
A large group of demonstrators assembled in Hyde Park on Saturday, where they listened to speeches denouncing the government’s anti-coronavirus measures. Piers Corbyn, brother of former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, was among the speakers.

Carrying placards reading “Stop the new normal, save lives,”“Freedom over fear,” and “Masks are muzzles,” the protesters then marched towards Downing Street, stopping outside BBC headquarters along the way.
