Prepping for collapse

I like Steve, the Houndog, but I can't see that any of this is because of either an “ice age” or a solar miminum (tell me hw that goes with record hot temperatures). Also it cannot be prepared for any more than crypocurrency is going to help anyone once the electricity goes off.
