THE ANTARCTIC

Antarctic ice is gradually thinning.



Here is the sea ice concentration


Areas of open ocean are appearing in the Ross Sea to the south of New Zealand.

The waters of the Tasman Sea between New Zealand and Austrlaia are warming up as the el-Nino kicks in.

The ice is returning to the Arctic, and the concentration is high while the ice remains thin.
