Bernie Sanders wins Kansas Democratic nomination

Senator Bernie Sanders has won the Democratic presidential nomination contest in Kansas, US media reported citing party officials. The margin by which Sanders beat his rival Hillary Clinton has not been immediately released.

“Thank you, Kansas! When we started this campaign, no one would have ever expected we’d win,” said a tweet on Sander’s official campaign account.

According to the Kansas state Democratic party, Senator Sanders won the caucuses, while votes in Nebraska and Louisiana were still being counted.
