Temps are already up to 43c in parts of NSW and northern VIC, parts of Melbourne are already over the 40c mark. Parts of SE SA are also seeing extreme temperatures.

There is a high chance that some region of western NSW and northern Vic seeing 45c+ temps this afternoon.
