"That’s not holy shit. Its worse than that"

NASA Scientist Eric Rignot , "West Antarctica is going to melt no matter what"

"Stopping our carbon emissions is wishful thinking at this point...that’s not holy shit. Its worse than that"

Clip from HBO VICE. NASA Scientist Eric Rignot , "West Antarctica is going to melt no matter what".I thank Professor Guy McPherson for bringing me the awareness of Abrupt Climate Change. Please check Guy McPherson his many videos on Youtube, or at my Facebook page, to see how much time we have left. You have a right to know.Ice sheets contain enormous quantities of frozen water. If the Greenland Ice Sheet melted, scientists estimate that sea level would rise about 6 meters (20 feet). If the Antarctic Ice Sheet melted, sea level would rise by about 60 meters (200 feet).Michael J. Sliwa and Guy McPherson will be doing a call-out show in a couple weeks, and we're asking your help. Specifically, we'll be calling out climate scientists and other public figures for their absurdity. Please put clips here and indicate where in the clip the scientist expressed unfounded hope (e.g., 10:12-11:35). Or submit a clip of somebody who contradicts him/herself regarding climate change. Some obvious names for you: Michael Mann, Naomi Klein, and Bill McKibben. But surely there are others. No clips longer than 3 minutes, please. Print media will work, too. THANKS, EVERYBODY.Please click below for more info.https://www.facebook.com/groups/592090680907692/829165957200162/?comment_id=829308253852599&notif_t=like

  2. Holy fuck. I say that to myself a lot. But mostly, I find myself apologizing the mother Earth and her nature of things. It still doesn't mean we can't respect her on our way out. People need to be told this. Every single person should plant a tree, be told how many babies we can't have, live in smaller house units, maintain only up to a certain household temperature, given only a certain amount of fuel per month, establish community gardens--all of it, but people need to be told what's going on. Oh shit, I'm not saying we can save ourselves, but respect this beautiful planet on our way out. Either follow some very uncomfortable rules or go quickly in the most hellish fashion.

  3. Lucky for us is that we will never see holy shit!
We are already too deep into our own doo doo.
Most posts I read online are from people who believe that "global warming" is just another way of wasting taxpayer money, that it's all a lie, this change is just normal change, not caused by humans. It's those damed environmentalist that want to send everyone back to the stone age to protect the environment. Sure.
I wonder how long their denial can last?

  4. Capitalism, unrestrained by the requirements of Planetary life support systems, is guaranteed mutually assured destruction. Socially enabled capitalism is clearly a failed paradigm. Help end tax funded pollution of the commons for starters. This is nothing less than tax funded Planetary ecocide.

The Fossil Barons are quick to point out the dilemma of their "stranded assets" following environmental constraints on polluting the commons. The flip side is the "stranded assets" currently suffered by "We the People" in the mitigation costs of increasing forest firers, floods, storms, sea level rise, agriculture loses, acidified oceans, even lives should steps not be made stranding those fossil "assets" while there is still a chance for the survival of the kidders.

We’re the first generation to feel the impacts of climate disruption, and the last generation that can do something about it. Which side are you on? No fence sitting aloud.

  6. Stopping our carbon emissions is not wishful thinking, it is the only thing worth doing. Let's do it with your own soft bodies; do it for a future worth having, do it for atonement and do it for the sake of anyone that survives. We can tell that we are in for a wild ride, but we don't know all the forces which may help to rebalance the biosphere. Civil disobedience is the best thing for any of us to do because obedience got us into this...

    1. Forget that...it is already too late....we will not be the first species to go extinct or evolve to new environments. We are not the only life form on this earth worth being here...we had our chance...
