The Lifeboat Hour

Changes at Collapse Net

I am posting Mike Ruppert's last Lifeboat Hour.

In it Mike announced  that he is stepping back as CEO of the company to give him the time to spend writing a new book and following a direction that he feels is necessary in surviving the coming collapse.

He talks of working on himself and developing the more right-brain and spiritual dimension which he feels (and I agree with) is necessary to bring about a change in consciousness that provides perhaps the only chance for the survival of our species and the myriad other species that inhabit this earth in the face of the destruction wrought by human industrial society and the myth of Infinite Growth.

Whilst some of the examples that he has given recently don't personally resonate with me these are details; the spiritual journey is a personal one and everybody has to take their own road.

What this means for Collapse Net is that we should continue to hear from Mike regularly through Collapse Net and through the Lifeboat Hour, but he is relinquishing editorial control.

There are changes afoot that will make Collapse Net a more collaborative endeavour that will be more reader /user-friendly and invite more contributions from people around the globe - much as I try to do on this blog.

I have to acknowledge a debt of gratitude to Mike Ruppert.

I had been aware of Peak Oil and climate change for some time now, but it was watching the movie Collapse and Mike's talk to the Vermont Secessionist Movement that moved me to instill a sense of informed urgency that has never left me since.

Others can present information in a more measured and even balanced way, but it was the fire of Mike Ruppert, his combination of a uncompromising search for the truth, power of analysis and above all his intellectual and emotional honesty that won me over.  These qualities have always made up for some of the other qualities that are often criticised.

We need this passion and what amounts to a 'call to arms' in today's world.

I will continue to divide my time between providing some editorial input at CollapseNet and continuing to communicate with readers through this blod
