Hunger in Britain

Notice al-Jazeera, in its introduction to this video uses the 'c' word.

Charities act to feed 'starving' in UK

When we talk about the world's hunger problems, there are several countries we associate with them, the UK is not usually one of them. However, we are now witnessing collapse in full force. Poverty campaigners are warning that government cuts and high food prices are making it impossible for many people to feed their families. Now some charities are organizing for the vast amounts of perfectly good food thrown away by supermarkets to be distributed to those in need. Al Jazeera's Laurence Lee reports from London.
